People were so angry and upset that the Boston Bomber was on the cover… and then proceeded to talk about it constantly for another week (giving him more publicity.)

As for the cover itself, it shows that this WAS once a normal kid. No one saw this coming. People want to paint these people as inhuman monsters, but at one time, they may have been saved or stopped. It should make people look at their neighbors, friends, and family members and realize that even the nice guy next door may be capable of doing horrible things.

Perez, if you happened to watch the Wendy Williams show thus morning you saw that one of her guests explained really well what that was all about, he said that one of the things the the magazine was trying to say is that this is the face of terrorism today and not the stereotypical face that we grew acostumed to, the same thing for Corey Monteith who's the face of heroin users today. Although I was also up and arms with Rolling Stone now I get their point.

Re: purplesprings – I agree with you about how this cover made people talk about him even more, but I disagree that people should look at their neighbors with that kind of suspicion. WHat we need to do is get to know our neighbors as friends. A generation ago, we knew our neighbors - now we do not.

Regardless of what people may think of the cover, the article itself was insightful and well written. It shed more light on this individual and his brother than any other media outlet has been able to do thus far. It is yet another well researched investigative piece of journalism by the Rolling Stone.

You people are idiots… The point is not to talk about the duche bag at all … I've never hears such idiotic fucking comments as yours

It says nothing about America; what it says about the magazine is that it produced a decent article. What does it say about YOU that you're such a bottom feeder?
Re: rosebud99 – I rarely agree with you, but in this one thing you're right today: We used to know our neighbors, and now that's pretty rare. I know all of mine, but I know people who have no idea who lives around them. I'm all for minding my own business, but I think knowing your neighbors is a good thing.

Rolling Stone knew what they were doing when they chose that image for their cover…they wanted to sell some magazines, and a s**t load of them! Mission accomplished. …But anyone with common sense knows that killers come in all shapes, sizes, ages, colors, AND degrees of attractiveness. I don't need Rolling Stone to school me on this.

Do you notice your grammatical errors? First word, second sentence… not to mention the coma should be a semi-colon. It's possible English isn't their first language.

Without understanding history, we're bound to repeat it. Rolling Stone did the responsible thing.

I sent mine back "return to sender". I am going to do this for the rest of the subscription so that they will pay for the postage both ways and then I will not buy another Rolling Stone magazine as long as I live.

Re: rosebud99 – Good point, I remember after 9/11 I had a coworker who was from the Middle East originally and he really got harassed by his neighbors. I really felt sorry for him, was a good guy, hard worker, paid his taxes, etc. I think he was really appreciative that I supported him.
But On Topic, I do not buy Rolling Stone but if I did I would not buy this issue.

Go to change.org and sign Jack & Kellly Osbourne's petition, asking that RS donate all Aug. issue profits to victims of the bombing. Please sign it.

Re: calpurnia – No. Rolling Stone did investigative journalism, they are the ones who compiled the research for the story, and it's the retarded media and bloggers like Perez who propagate the notion that they're somehow cashing in by just throwing the Boston Bomber on the front of their magazine. They're asking serious questions that should have been investigated by law enforcement and put out in the general media about this guy, the government should pay compensation along with anyone who chooses to donate - RS have no obligation to.
