It's cause she's a bitch. One of the many reasons why I hate her is that she rude to everyone who has the misfortune of crossing her path. Hey Jessica, you were in Spy Kids for God's sake, I think it's safe to say your career has been over for years. Drop the diva act. You are no one special and have no right to go after this woman.

It appears Honest Co. is hoping this whole PR nightmare will just go gently into the good night, acting like the angry comments littering their FB page aren't even there. I hope it's because they're scrambling for a graceful way to apologize to the HT, but I suspect they're waiting for the hubub to die down so they can quietly ruin her financially. Thanks for keeping it fresh in our minds and standing up for the little guy, Perez. #Teamtoddler

Dishonest is right Perez! I think this hurts Jessica to be.. honest, lol. Jessica Alba says on her website, "I created The Honest Company to help moms and to give all children a better, safer start". If her intensions are to help moms, then why is she suing one? a mom that seems to have her own thing going on and i'm assuming she's not making a million dollars doing it. This is making Jessica look very greedy, and i was already thinking that she was becoming a bit Gwenyth Paltrowesque. "The Greedy Company" seems like a more fitting name. I'm all for a healthy, safe, social and environmentally conscience lifestyle (if it's affordable), and i get she has a business and brand, but she should let this go.

    you're right… it's a shady thing to do…

  5. Bunmi Laditan says – reply to this

Hi Mario, My name is Bunmi Laditan- I'm the mom behind Honest Toddler and I so appreciate your support. I'm fighting the opposition to my trademark hard because I've been doing this for over a year now and love it. Honest Toddlers is based on my now three-year old crazypants kid. She's awesome, opinionated, stubborn, beautiful, and yes, very honest.

HonestKids juice exists, HonestMom.com exists…why can't I? If I lose my trademark I risk all of my social media profiles being taken away. It has happened to others. And besides that, why can't I own the name that's on the cover of my book?

I don't know why a simple "do not compete" agreement wasn't made. I'm not going to cancel my trademark application. I've worked too hard on this to let anyone else own it. The ideal that people will confuse a soap company with a humor blog is insulting.

I appreciate the offer to create a legal fund but I don't want to take anyone's money. I just appreciate you guys believing in me and supporting me. It means everything and it means I'm not alone in this.

Are you effing kidding me!!?!! She does not OWN the word HONEST!!! Doesn't she have better things to do with her tons of $ than destroy someone's life!? Get over yourself Jessica Alba! Oh, and don't sue me, I'm just being honest.

  7. Piper says – reply to this

Alba is being unreasonable! I didnt hear about this whole feud until reading it on your site a few days ago. I ressearched it and my conclusion is that Alba is greedy and has a sense of entitlement. You cant claim a common word as your own. I hope the mommy blogger fights it and doesnt give in to their ridiculous demands. Because of this, I wont ever pay money to see any movies that Alba is in, nor will I buy any of her products. Alba needs a dose of reality, and she needs to get off her high horse.

  8. Michelle says – reply to this

I agree with you completely. They are being petty and I do hope this ruins there name. And pite what the author thinks I do thinks its a good idea to start a fund. It's not just giving her money its taking a stand that the "little people" won't just be stomped on by a large company.

  9. 9

Re: OhGlob! – Like except to the gender specific name. And species-ist lol (Dogs are some of the most loyal and loving creatures we have.)

  10. 10

good report. thats very mean to a mom who obviously had not intention of bothering jessica alba. i'm sick of anybody who needs a lawyer for something so simple they should be able to say directly themselves. if it's that real and clear-cut a problem, just say it. discuss. try to reach an agreement. otherwise…most of us never get what we want. just shut up and stop

  11. 11

I agree with you. This is very lame. The word "honest"?? come on :( She is also loving the publicity for her company too though. Perez, iron your shirt lol.

  12. irg19 says – reply to this

Re: Bunmi Laditan – Alba is way out of line. I hope she loses this case or drops it. Good luck in your battle.

  13. Camden says – reply to this

When you choose to start a battle, you should make sure you are going to win and that your in the right. Unfortunately for her, this is a battle she wont win legally nor publically. Alba is forcing the public to choose a side and its evident that they are choosing the mommy blogger's side. As a result the bad publicity will be her demise. Without the public's support of her, she will have NO career. She really didnt have much of one anyways, she has been in a few movies but she isnt really famous. And really come to think of it, she sucks as an actor. She is just dull.

  14. Nikki says – reply to this

I'd totally support her if you started a fund, alba is in the wrong here!

  15. 15

    yes. she's overreaching big time

  16. Jennifer says – reply to this

It's a word for god sake. If I say "you are not being honest" is she going to sue me?! The blogger isn't called "The Honest Toddler Company" or "The Honest Company Toddler" so I think Jessica Alba needs to back the EFF off and leave this mom alone.

  17. 17

She should be ashamed of herself. The word "honest" is so generic…PLEEEZE!

  18. BarDu says – reply to this

Thank you Perez. for standing up for the little guy! This is the only place I have seen this story.

  19. 19

She's becoming more and more Paltrowy everyday.

  20. kristen says – reply to this

Hi-fives, Perez! The Honest Co. is gunning down a mom so they can corner the market on a word for a subsection of their brand they haven't even launched yet. If they changed the name of that branch of their brand no one would notice. If they gave up this trademark, nothing would happen to the trademarked Honest Co. (which, let's remember IS their brand). It's fully protected. Also, The Honest Toddler filed for the trademark shortly after they did and the legal bodies who grant trademarks granted it to her because they saw that there would be no confusion between brands. It's ridiculous what THC is doing.

  21. Brandi says – reply to this

    SCREW Jessica Alba!!!!!!!! Seriously!

  22. TherealHONESTtruth says – reply to this

Oh by the way, Jessica, when did POLYURETHANE become non toxic? Other companies do just fine without it in their diapers. Why not the Honest company??

  23. carrie says – reply to this

If you play music in the background of the video, it should be without words! Hard to focus on what you're saying when watching the video. =)

  24. JessieByrd says – reply to this

i don't belive anyone is suing anyone. perez probably should get the facts before he starts spouting off. this is a horrible report. mr. hilton has basically NONE of the information and is going completely off what HT fans are saying for everything in this piece and obviously didn't bother to look into the facts of the matter.

Read both sides and get the details and then you'll realize that this whole video is a joke. Honestly. No one is suing anyone (they're just trying to block a trademark application for a word they already use that is within the same 'business class" as what HT is applying for. There can't be two business with the same trademark in the same class. It will end up confusing the consumer. This is standard business stuff.) and no one is trying to 'own' the word honest. Perez, you're better than this… i thought.

  25. 25

They're not trying to own the word honest. But they do - in a business sense - own the word when it relates to baby/toddler products, home cleaning, bath & body, and probably some other stuff (advice and/or entertainment maybe, idk). That seems to be the issue.

THC was here first. They did their due diligence and got the trademarks for all the classes of business they knew they planned on growing into. So that's it. It's there's. HonestToddler came second. It's unfortunate, but it's the facts. It seems like just business stuff to me. What am I missing? They're fine with letting her use it as long as she doesn't compete but she feels like they should give up their trademark and give it to her just because she wasn't smart enough to do research before launching her biz??? Seems silly to me.

BTW, THC is an amazing company. Great products. Super responsible. Takes care of their customers. Does lots of charity work. We love them!

Re: Jennifer – Um, no. It's God's sake.

  27. 27

Re: Jennifer – And since Perez the annoying blocked my link, Google it. For God's sake: An exclamation showing surprise, impatience, or some other emotion. "For God's sake, don't scare me like that!"

Re: hudhawk – If it were "theirs" the US Trademark Office wouldn't have given preliuminary approval and published the mark. It's all public record. Crazy!

She also wasn't sent an agreement to coexist. They offered her 365 days to use it before they took it over.

Interviewing her one year and claiming confusion the next? UMMMMM

  29. 29

    Re: OhGlob!

Seriously? You're actually THAT bored that you not only Googled a link, but followed up with a second post? Alright. I'm bored too so what the hell. It may be the proper turn of phrase or "saying" to include the 's but when most people literally say it, it comes out for god sake or for christ sake, pete, goodness etc. One S slurs into the next. File this under "why do you care?". And while you're at it, could you go after the people that say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" ? That's REALLY annoying.

  30. 30

jessica has a case on this people, whether you like it or not!

  31. Kim says – reply to this

A few of you Jessica supporters are saying she has a case. Even if she did, it will not matter because her business is now OVER!!!! A business needs to have a good reputation and customers who are willing to buy the products and support what the business stands for. Moms are her sole customer base, and look at what she has done, pissed off most moms!!! Why do you think no other tabloids or media outlets have exposed this story? Because Alba's pr team is probably paying them off or making deals with them. If I were the mommy blogger, I would doing interviews with media outlets and would be trying to shine the spotlight on what Alba is doing and then the public would decide who they want to support. If Alba wants to road block this woman's business, then this woman should also return the favor. That is my honest opinion….oops I used the word honest, now she is going to sue me!!!! lol!!!!

  32. 32

Re: Bunmi Laditan – Nice try.

    Seriously leave her alone

  34. Honestly says – reply to this

She can name the product whatever she wants even though I find it funny it's call Honest from a female who's a poser she so full of shit who doesn't want to be recognize for hispanic back ground . She a fucking coconut .Brown in the outside , White in the inside . You are definitely the joke of the day Honest ha ha . Moms shouldn't trust her product she a lier . I hope that lady has the funds to sue Jessica. She can't count me out of buying her products honest ha .

  35. Sarah says – reply to this

Honestly this isn't part of Jessica job, yes she'll be a main part of the company but she won't really conrol who the company sues or not so I think everyones just blaiming her for other idiots because they know her name

    Actually polyurethane is not toxic…
"No, Polyurethane is not toxic. In bedding products it often gives off a strong scent for a few days, which is not harmful. It is also used in MANY eco-friendly products, because it is non-toxic. It is a type of plastic, and can be used in place of nearly everything from metal to fiberglass to beds."

    Re: hudhawk
Glad to see someone on her side. I LOVE their products. First thing we used that didn't make my child's eczema worse.

  38. 38

haha the ones that come here and defend her sound like damage control haha did the company hire people to come on here to make her sound like her poop smells like flowers. honestly, we're going to believe what we want to believe and it doesn't matter how many people shout for her or against her..on a personal level i've never liked her and the only movies i've seen with her in them were the fantastic 4 ones.

  39. shelby says – reply to this

    Agreed, she should back off.

  40. l says – reply to this

Who gives a #@$% if her products are good. That has absolutely nothing to do with the actions she is choosing to take against this woman. Why shouldn't she be held accountable? Because she is a well off, pretty little starlet? If anything that should make us stand up for this Mom.
Jessica Alba has it good but can't be grateful for the loads of support, not to mention: revenue she's already built up with her companies products. Greedy, greedy, greedy.

  41. 41

I think it's funny the majority of these comments are coming from women. Must be mad they caught their boyfriends or husbands jerking off to an Alba scene

  42. Golden Globe *Nom* says – reply to this

I'm a big fan of The Honest Toddler and would be heartbroken for it to be taken away or even have its named changed. Jessica Alba is acting like a school yard bully. The Honest Toddler's mom/creator is totally right: it's ridiklus (Honest Toddler speech!) to think that a humor blog would take business away from a company selling organic products. The Honest Company's attitude is very elitist, and you know what? Alba made a big mistake going after a mom-of-three who created something wonderful from her own home…and who fits into the very demographic that Alba's company targets. Dumb, dumb, dumb move by "Golden Globe NOMINATED actress". Targeting a mother for something so petty…not very HONEST.

  43. @v@ says – reply to this

If THC actually was there first, let the justice system decide. It's on the edge; not sure how they would rule.

  44. Cakey says – reply to this

I guess she is short on cash. Last year she was suing another mom that owns the BELLY BANDIT for having her picture on their website or something.
    That is really no cool!

  45. BigMetalChicken says – reply to this

Stories of this company’s unscrupulous billing practices have been circulating for months. And now this — one of the biggest PR blunders in the annals of American corporate history. Seriously, professors instructing students enrolled in MBA programs at all major universities across the U.S. should start using Honest Company’s bullying tactics as an example of how NOT to conduct business, especially when you’re a floundering start-up selling spectacularly overpriced baby products to the very same demographic that visits the Honest Toddler blog. HONEST company? I’m gonna go with GONEST company.

  46. Iron Pony says – reply to this

An epic PR fail on the part of The Honest Company.

They've succeeded in alienating the very demographic they so desperately need to take this foundering start-up to profitability. If I were an investor? I'd be running for the nearest exit.

    This company is toast.

  47. FireWife42 says – reply to this

I've NEVER heard good things about how Jessica Alba treats the common world. Very pathetic indeed.

  48. Wind Snapper says – reply to this

By all accounts, Jessica Alba is a deeply narcissistic woman who made life miserable on Dark Angel for many of the peasants who worked the set. The fact that she sold her own infant daughter's photos to O.K. magazine for $1.3M speaks volumes about who she is and what she values. Even that other insufferable lifestyle guru, Gwyneth Paltrow, never stooped to selling her kids' baby photos.

Note how she never gives any of her baby products to charity without announcing it to all the major media outlets and generally making a big production out of it. Not quietly with zero fanfare like Jolie and Bullock do.

  49. Get It Straight says – reply to this

    Get your facts straight Perez.

  50. Sky.Surrender says – reply to this

I totally agree! But, there may be a possibility that Jessica Alba does not have as much control over the company as led on and she may just be a face to sell the product. Therefore, she may not have much of a say. But still, I'm sure she's very much aware of what's going on, therefore, she needs to (at least) try to make things right, if not for kind reasons, possibly for her career. She'll definitely lose fans over this.

  51. mjf says – reply to this

Honestly, my friend has interacted with her several times at a Whole Foods and says she is delusional and a NIGHTMARE!!!!

  52. Scarlett says – reply to this

I don't know Jessica Alba and how she is as a person behind the screen. But this is a really shady thing to do. In her interviews, she repeatedly stated her PASSION and intentions in helping mums with their toddlers. Why is she creating and giving "troubles" to a mum/entrepreneur, who has the similar passion and goal?

  53. Juniper says – reply to this

God help her husband and her poor girls when her looks start to fade. There will be hell to pay and I'm guessing they'll take the brunt of her wrath. Wouldn't want to be Ca$h in about 5 years when she's worked through her delusions about having an 'acting' career and her company is in shambles. She reminds me a lot of Kim Basinger — same wooden acting style, and same bat-shit level of crazy.

  54. Juniper says – reply to this

Re: Get It Straight – Is that you, Jessica?

  55. BigMetalChicken says – reply to this

The Honest Company is well on its way to ruining its brand for all eternity. The company made it onto TheRipoffReport.com for its unscrupulous billing practices. Check it out at:

  56. RipOffReport says – reply to this

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize this site won't publish URLs (see previous post). To see the ripoff report on this company's unscrupulous billing practices, google The Honest Company and the Ripoff Report.
