Shut down the Backstreet Boys?!

We won't hear of it!

But apparently that's how things rolled in Chicago this weekend as the BSB concert was stopped due to curfew issues. But all the boys are adults! LOLz!

Srsly, Perezcious readers, the boys apparently had their concert shut down by the city before they could even give the fans one more song as a send off.

It is a totes tragic situation, but at least those boys tried their darndest to make the fans happy.

Ch-ch-check it out…AFTER THE JUMP!!

I was at this concert right next to the person who took this video. It was dumb for them to get shut down. We didn't even get to hear Larger than Life, I Want it that Way, and Backstreets Back. I was surrounded by crying 24 year old girls. Their manager should have planned better. Backstreet boys did all they could though. =\

Chicago police "claim" they knew nothing of this incidence, that it was concert venue security kicking everyone out, but we saw Chicago policemen. And while yes, the tour manager should have known about the concert and cut the opening acts time down, ultimately, the problem happened because everything started so late. Problems with setting up the stage, etc., decision-making about opening acts, etc—that is the realm of the tour manager. Wonder if they still have a job today?

I still can't believe it happened. The boys were begging them for one more song but they wouldn't give. The guy that was telling them no looked like a total douche. The problem I have is that the boys would have paid the fines to go over time to finish the concert….Pearl Jam was able to perform until two in the morning at Wrigley field. They had a delay because of the rain and we (at bsb) had a delay because of the venue. VIP was running late because of the fire marshal. They were telling bsb that they had to cut VIP short because of time but luckily bsb was nice and let all the vips go backstage to take pictures. Then for some reason the whole concert was 30 minutes off.

I still can't believe it happened! The boys were begging for 10 minutes for just one more song. The guy that told them no looked like a total douche. Bsb would have paid the fines to give their fans the whole concert. The reason for the curfew is so it doesn't disturb the neighborhood, but we were on an island that only had a museum near it! Lollapaloza was playing at the same time and they were able to continue. Pearl jam performed a couple of weeks ago at Wrigley field and they were on until two in the morning. They paid the fines and there were no complaints. I blame the venues management. The fans that bought the VIP were two hours behind because of the fire Marshall. Then they wanted to cut VIP short short but bsb took the vips backstage for the pictures. Then for some reason the concert got a 30 minute delay…don't know the reason but the venue should have told them they needed to cut the openers short since there was a curfew! I'm hoping Bsb will come back to Chicago because I really would like to see the whole concert. It was disappointing that I didn't see them perform six of their songs. I love that bsb begged until the end. I'm now a bigger fan of theirs because of how much they tried to sing one more song. The ending was perfect when everyone was singing I want it that way. The guys looked so proud of their fans!

I think the backstreet boys handled themselves very well! For the Chicage concert. I have a lot of respect for all 5 of them!

Re: Twilight – The cops claim now they knew nothing, but when talking to the cops outside the venue as we were leaving, they said they had to shut the concert down for curfew.

There is a right way and a wrong way to end a concert, and the way this was handled was terrible.

Maybe if the concert had started on time and not 45 minutes late- there would not have been curfew issues. The 11pm curfew is well known in Chicago- and it's the rules you must follow when having and all ages show. Nearby Lollapalooza was going on and siding have this issue- they probably know to start a concert on time.
