Run-DMC rapper Darryl McDaniels isn't exactly bowing down to Jay Z or Lil' Wayne.
In a recent interview, Darryl complained about how "hip hop on radio sucks" before belil'ing Lil' Wayne and Hova's prowess. Here's what he said:
"Lil Wayne, Jay Z ain’t hot, it’s just they’re programmed so many times people are brainwashed."
Wow! Get out your calamine lotion and find a skin graft, because that was a serious BURN!
Darryl, the DMC of Run-DMC, continued his rant, lambasting hip hop's drug references:
"It seems like stupid America celebrates a person that says 'yeah I’m a drug dealer, I’m bringing the drugs into the hood.' The reason why hip hop exists is because it started out with good intentions, once all the good intentions left the music became polluted, it became disrespectful it became immature."
Darryl also spoke of the need for balance in rap music.
"If you make a record about a gun, on that very same record or album there’s gotta be a record about not using a gun. If you’re making a record on the b*tches or the h*es, there’s got to be a record about your aunt who worked all of the days of her life to send all her children to college."
Wow, if that's the case, looks like Lil' Wayne may actually owe A Million non-violent records.
No word yet on whether or not Jay has a problem, or 98 more of them, with what DMC had to say! Do you think he'll come back with a diss about Run-DMC's hyphen being so yesterday? We guess we'll find out!
