Amanda Bynes' Condition Lands Her In Her Parents Care! Temporary Conservatorship Granted!

She may not think so, but it might actually be a good day to be Amanda Bynes. She's finally going to get the help she so desperately needs

As we reported earlier today, after reviewing the matter at hand, a judge granted doctors an emergency conservatorship which extends the psychiatric hold for another 30 days, as she has been deemed "gravely disabled". Now, the judge overseeing Amanda's parents plea for a conservatorship has just granted their request.

It's fairly clear that the decision was made to grant the temporary conservatorship after doctors at the psychiatric hospital got a 1-month extension on her psych hold, which kept Amanda from appearing in court today to defend herself. Still, her lawyers were present, and pleaded despearted in opposition of the conservatorship, believing it's not necessary.

But in the end, her parents came out victorious, with the temporary conservatorship lasting until Sept. 30. At that time the judge will hold a formal hearing on whether to make it permanent. In that time, the judge made it clear that although they have the ability to manage her finances, her folks are not to make any significant deals without consulting with Amanda's lawyer.

And that, as they say, is that.

Here's hoping her parents do right by her and continue to get her the help she needs. She's a girl worth fighting for, a talent we should get the chance to enjoy again.

Take care of yourself, Mandy! We truly mean that.

    Good.

I think her career is over, after all of that though. I know it's an illness and what not but all that hate mongering and crazy shallowness isn't something she's going to recover from professionally. Glad she'll at least do no more harm to anyone else, or herself.

Re: Valentina – I wouldn't write her off just yet. If she does it right, gets well, apologizes, tries to bring her illness to the public light, I think she could come back. People love an underdog, and they will feel empathetic to her illness. She has a chance, but she has to do it the right way.

    OR NOT.

I'm glad she is getting treatment but schizophrenics are notoriously difficult to treat. Their delusions are so real to them, they do not believe they are ill. I feel for her aging parents because they will have to deal with her and take care of her for the rest of her life. She will go off her meds. She will abuse them and accuse them of horrible things because she won't be in her right mind. I do not think they want her money but someone has to pay the bills and look over her finances while she cannot.

I realize that lawyers have to make a living and people are granted a defense in any matter, but any lawyer that truly thinks this wasn't needed scares me. It's very obvious she is mentally ill. I hope the lawyers fought for her legally, but were hoping behind the scenes that they lost…

but that hate mongering and crazy shallowness IS part of the illness. just as Incognito says, they think they are fine and everyone else is out to get them. and I sadly agree, she won't stay on her meds and will fight this illness the rest of her life. Even once many of these folks get better and realize to a degree that they were ill, when they start feeling better, they think they can handle it. T&Ps to her and her parents.

She does have amazing talent and she is just such a GORGEOUS girl, I am SO happy to hear this, prayers you get better and stable Amanda, I have never read anything about your parents so I hope they are good people and can get you well. The fact they are fighting for you means something, praying they do what is right by you and you are able to get well again. Drugs are soul stealers. You have too much going for you to throw it all away and you are so incredibly beautiful and whatever is going on, is stealing your life, your health and your beautiful face. Get well soon!!!!

I hope one day she is well enough and brings some light onto her problems. Especially since so many people suffer from mental illness and there's such a stigma attached to it.

How do you know Amanda Bynes' parents weren't abusive to her, for real? And possibly damaged her sense of self? This is why this is so wrong.

How do you know Amanda Bynes' parents weren't abusive to her, for real? And possibly damaged her sense of self? This is why this is so wrong on so many levels.

Re: @incognito – Because abuse does not cause schizophrenia. It is a disease of the brain, not emotional damage.

Re: Valentina – You say, "I know it's an illness and what not…" . Well, knowing that she's ill, as you say you do, you still show a shocking lack of compassion and harsh judgment. I don't care whether or not "her career is over". I only wish that she find peace within.

@myafaire Who says severe abuse can't cause someone to lose touch with reality? Your comment is ignorant. You should read emergingfrombroken.com
