Amanda Bynes' Tears Are A Good Thing! She's Said To Be Showing Signs Of Improvement!

| Filed under: Amanda BynesMental Health

amanda bynes crying sign of improvement

Happy, happy day!

Just weeks ago, it seemed like Amanda Bynes was in a seriously dangerous downward spiral, but things really do appear to be turning around for our troubled friend.

Even though her doctors revealed she's "gravely disabled," not all hope is lost for our former Twitterholic!

Get this, Perezcious readers: just days before her scheduled court hearing last Friday Amanda apparently began crying over the serious dramz! A couple of tears might not seem like much, but schizophrenics typically don't display this type of emotion.

Basically, that little puddle is a huge sign of possible success!

Not only that, but she's supposedly been confiding in one of the nurses about no longer needing care at the hospital. Even though she likely needs more help, doctors are reportedly pleased she's forming clear thoughts.

We're so happy we get to be reporting good news about Miz Bynes!

Let's just hope it continues!

Seriously. Leave this girl alone and let her begin to heal and take the proper steps towards getting her mental health under control.

The term 'schizophrenic's' is disrespectful. People who suffer from schizophrenia are humans with a serious disease and do not deserve to be defined by their diagnosis. People with mental health issues are severely stigmatized and I hope that Perez Hilton will try to be more tolerate and respectful in the future.

It's incredibly offensive to say that 'schizophrenics' don't cry. They are not void of emotion and it's hurtful to those suffering and those who've seen the effects of the disease first-hand to say uneducated statements like that. Believe it or not, many people with schizophrenia can contribute to society with the proper treatment. Please don't propagate stereotypes. Whatever ailment Amanda Bynes is suffering from, I pray for her and her family that she receives the proper treatment and finds her way back to stability.

Prez is making this up.. No one who works at the hospital would share that kind of information. It is a violation of patient confidentiality and would result in a huge fine for the hospital (who is also using her for publicity). The average patient only stays for 3 to 6 days not the weeks and weeks she has. Then again most lack her wealth and media coverage.

I know you're trying to be positive and helpful, Perez, but you need to get your facts straight. Amanda has no official diagnosis yet, so to refer to her as "a schizophrenic" is hasty and insensitive. Also, her aying that she no longer needs treatment is CLASSIC mental imbalance behavior, not an improvement at all. It's why people don't stay on their meds and get better. Let's send her good wishes and give her some privacy while she gets through this, it's hard enough without being in the spotlight.

Perez how can you be so thoughtless? If its true that the lovely Miss Bynes has found a Nurse to trust and confide in, how can you just blow that all away by printing this on a public forum? That would make any hurt let alone someone that needs saftey from harm and to be able to trust. Why dont you go get yourself some mental health care and work on being a good guy. Its clear that you dont care about you old friend but believe that you do. How do you spell delusional?

Um, who says people with Schizophrenia don't cry or show emotion??? I am a psychiatric social worker and have worked in inpatient mental health units with involuntary clients for years, many of whom have Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder or a Psychosis NOS diagnosis and they all show emotion and they all cry. Where do you get your information, Perez?

Perez owns a fucking gossip website for fuck's sake and telling him not to post these things is like telling him not to do his job. Unfortunately, limited privacy is part of being a celebrity, so tabloid sites will keep on exposing information about them. There is a huge demand for it and they give people what they want. And @Sgh, Perez never said that people with schizophrenia cannot get well and contribute to society. You easily misinterpret things.

I find this offensive for many reasons, the top being the fact that the stigmatization of mental illness is so pervasive in this country, and sweeping generalizations do nothing but perpetuate that stigma. Let us not forget, Perez, that mere decades ago, homosexuality, too, was considered a "mental illness."

I am a person diagnosed with schizophrenia, I'm extremely offended by your posts that demonstrate that you know nothing about schizophrenia. Apathy can be a symptom of several mental disorders and doesn't signify schizophrenia. It's people like you that post uninformed insights into the disorder and negative interpretations that make it hard to live with an tell people about being schizophrenic. Thanks for the set back.
