Listen To Lady GaGa's Applause In Full HERE!

applause cover lady gaga 35167904 1024 768(1)

Check out Lady GaGa's new single, Applause, below!

What do U think of the song???

Sounds a bit too weird for us! And most people can't relate to the song.

But, this should do very well in the clubs, where they will "clap" for her. Not sure how it will do on radio.

Doesn't sound very radio-friendly.

Listen to it HERE…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

    this is too much!!

Even the artwork for the single is a rip off of Madonna's MerGirl video from 1998.

gaga is applauding herself for her copious ways.

    Check it out!:

i LOVE how you can see the jealousy and envy in perez's post.

i love this song, its actually really really good.

    AAAAAND i still hate perez

I checked it out, and what I concluded is you have no imagination if you think one image is a copy of the other.

    Re: goodtasteishardtofind
You do realize EDM has been around long before 1998, right? Even long before 1982? I stand by my argument. Madonna "popularized" dance music in the 80s, only because she had the right image to sell it out of the underground and into the suburbs, but she didn't create it. She just rehashed what black, and underground and New Romantic artists have been doing for years. And as far as "Ray Of Light" goes, all she did was take the techno sound that existed in the clubs and at raves for years prior, watered it down, and mass marketed it to the general public like she does with everything she touches.

What I find funny is that you are only tweeting negative reviews of the song when the positive reviews are much larger in number than the negative. You failed to post the Rolling Stone review, the Entertainment Weekly review, the Billboard review or the Washington Post review (all positive) but you post the one negative Spin review. You are reporting is bias and you're encouraging people to illegally download her single so that she won't sell as many copies as Katy Perry. Can't we like both? Why do you feel the need to try and sway people into liking Katy's single more? It's all very ridiculous, if you asked me. You are a grown man with a child. Act like it.

  7. marsali says – reply to this

I don't understand your problem Perez. You know you like this song. Whatever problem you have with her is clearly showing through in your "work", and that is very unprofessional. Cut it out already.

  8. Bob says – reply to this

I'm laughing because this is so predictable of you. I don't even have to listen to the song to know that you're exaggerating because you dislike her, lawl.

Re: Ed – Yes, I've heard of Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder and the whole disco era, but you essentially agree with me that Madonna was the first American to bring EDM into the zeigeist. Yes, there was Prodigy, Bjork, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Prince and countless other acts that utilize electronic elements, but by and large, Madonna's Ray Of Light was the first big electronica hit in the US. Yes, Homogenic was critically acclaimed, so was Post and Debut but Madonna worked with them Nellee Hooper and Massive Attack RIGHT around the same time. I've done my research and I stand by what I said. Madonna is the most successful dance artist of all time (not only the most successful female recording artist ever). Madonna's core sound is in dance music. listen to anything and it's dance music, but with a pop and R&B hooks. And when I say EDM, I'm not talking about disco, I'm talking actual club music…modern club music. Not pre-1982 MJ disco/dance/pop, not 70's Donna Summer. Madonna laid the groundwork for modern dance music, and of course, she capitalized on in and every album she's released since 1998's Ray of Light, to MDNA is EDM. She was doing it before it was ever cool. That's why she's Madonna. She didn't have a prior female artist on which to model herself on and had to make her own niche, which has been and always will be dance music.

Re: applause – says the bitch named applause

  15. 215

I've listened to it 4 times now. It's not too bad. It'll be a pretty good dance floor song. Knowing Gaga, I was concerned that it would be a lot weirder. Gaga's voice always reminds me of Madonna. It's kind of eerie. Makes you wonder if Madonna secretly had a daughter in the early 80s and put her up for adoption or something … now she's the all grown up Gaga.

If you look at videos of the female singer of 80s synthpop band "Missing Persons" named Dale Bozzio she sounds AND looks a lot like Gaga. Type in "Missing Persons words us festival". It's a cool song. Dale Bozzio is short and from New York like Gaga too. If Gaga has more hit songs like Madonna and Missing Persons I'll become a bigger fan of hers.

  16. Roy Burton says – reply to this

Lady Gaga Is So Cool! But My Question Is This Is This Song Gonna Be On A Cd ? & I Ask This I've Heard About This ARTPOP Cd That Is Suposed To Be Out.

  17. 217

Well, she's totally and I do mean TOTALLY ripping off Dale Bozzio/Missing Persons this time. She has no originality whatsoever, that's becoming more and more apparent. I've heard through the grapevine that the info that her lawyer had blocked in court will most likely wind up being leaked. I only hope it's as damaging as they claim, because people need to know the truth about her and what a fraud she truly is.

  18. chadj says – reply to this

if you can't hear the radio appeal, it explains a lot about why you're not in the music biz anymore. By the way, cut your hair, it's gross.

  19. Roy Burton says – reply to this

Lady Gaga Is Cool! But Is This Song Gonna Be On The ARTPOP Cd ?

  20. 220

The lyrics are what's lacking to this song, like it's not fresh enough. I can honestly say that the melody is a little catchy, like I can see myself bopping my head to it but it's nothing super memorable compared to when she always says that she wants to have a "message" in her songs. Sounds narcissistic if anything lol

  21. bnietzsche says – reply to this

    love it

  22. astroboy says – reply to this

Listen to the vocal flourish at around the 2:22 mark. Madonna could never do that.
She sounds like Whitney there or Mariah. I hope she uses more of her vocal ability on the rest of ArtPop. I think it's VERY catchy. I heard it once and couldn't get it out of my head. Gaga sounds fierce and ready to go.

  23. 223

I like some of Gaga's music but I gotta admit I'm a bigger fan of Katy Perry. That girl is a hit machine … a superhot looking one too. No doubt about it.

I think Katy's fairly new 2012 song "Dressin Up" is a cool song for the dance floor. It's better than this new song by Gaga in my opinion. It sounds good turned up loud in a big dance club. I love the sexual innuendo in that song. Katy is good at that in her songs. It probably makes guys in dance clubs want to hit on more chicks and maybe get lucky and bring one home for the night. Hopefully, Katy has another good dance club song on her new album.

  24. 224

Ok, I may be out of my freaking mind. I heard this 3 times now, and wtf, I'm kind of literally starting to love it haha. She's such a sorceress, I really do hate her but the beat just kinds of put you in a good mood. UGH I wish she would just tone it down visually and stop trying so hard, it'd be so much easier to "like" her and give her props lol. I'll listen a few more times :X

  25. 225

rubbish 80s rip off between split enz and david bowie style most of the song u cant make out what shes saying bit like the alledged SQUEAKING OF RATS at her parents restaurant yes perez I read 'Famous' magazine..

i can only make out the self appreciating lyrics the rest of the song is nothing but dance music u cant even make out the words …shes on the way out in a bad way down the slippery slope like a wet turd down the ny sewer system .. take the rats with u..

GAGAS DEAD all thats left is afriendless lank hair lonely woman on a piano

  26. Nick says – reply to this

As a non-biased little monster, I can admit that the song is lacklustre, however it's still an undeniably great track and to call it 'too weird' is ridiculous because in my opinion it's the most basic track she's ever released and doesn't contain enough 'weird.' I don't understand why you're being so overly harsh on Gaga, I get that you've both fallen out, but don't you see how hypocritical and false you're unconsciously portraying yourself to be to the entire world? You cannot say that you're firmly opposed to bullying and then advocate such hatred and nastiness every day. You ought to take a minute to remember the old Perez, the one who was overweight and never felt like he fit in, and then remember how Gaga used to make him feel about himself. Maybe if you took two minutes to think about that then you'd stop bullying her. </3

  27. Stevenm281 says – reply to this

I really don't like it, such a shame she hasn't released anything amazing since The Fame Monster.

Disappointed. The Fame was great but she lost me after Born This Way. Way too preachy for me. But this is the other side of the spectrum. Way too shallow. And nothing I haven't heard before. She seems to not be able to decide whether she wants to bring people together with her music or separate them. Definitely listening to the album BEFORE I buy it next time. AND STOP HATING ON PEREZ PPL! YOU HAVE YOUR OPINION TOO!

Of course Perez will try to nay say it since his obsessive butthurt over Lady Gaga renders him completely stupid. This is incredible and really puts Katy Perry's Meow to shame.

  51. Kaelin says – reply to this

Oh here we go, people who don't like gaga clicks on a obvious gaga page and talks shit about her and compare her to madonna. People was not saying "reductive" until madonna used it on that interview.
Perez your not a critic your a fucking blogger, if you don't like her, let her be.
    Great song gaga!

  52. LaFondue says – reply to this

I think it will catch on once its played all over the airwaves and Perez youre in no position to give an incredible artist like Lady GaGa a bad review since you are no where near qualified to be a critic, just a damn blogger that made it big because of your non stop shade throwing to celebrities (which is what made you, who you are right now!) and i hope that Lady Gaga will rise even higher in her years to come as an artist.

  53. connor says – reply to this

"A reverse Warholian experience". Andy made fine art that was taken seriously commercially, she is taking what to some people maybe just another commercial pop song, but with the video, i'm sure she will add the amazing artistic craziness like the artwork for the single and it will be huge. Even her best Bad Romance wouldn't be anything without that video, and the best thing about bad romance is the simplicity and cleanness of the bathhouse with just touches of craziness, exactly like her recent pictures, flawless simplistic makeup but touches of GaGa. You people hating are seriously missing her point, yet again!
p.s Anyone using the word 'reductive' i am instantly dismissing your opinion as it is not on the music but rather the lady herself. I can just imagine Madonna sat for hours before that interview reading the dictionary trying to find the perfect word, and she did because she is a smart woman who is also artistically amazing but personality wise is just sour.

  54. connor says – reply to this

oh and perez, i'm sure you more than anybody knows that bad publicity is still publicity, after all, the statement seems to form the foundation of your career. Weather you slag her off, of her your nose up her ass like pre 2012, it's all the same xx #keepingthebitchinbussiness just how i like it!

  55. sp says – reply to this

Not a fan, unfortunately. It's okay but I won't go out of my way to listen to this. I find it really quite irritating. Kinda disappointed.

  56. laokay says – reply to this

Why are you still hating on Gaga? Did she not want to be your friend anymore? Get out of middle school and respect her and your own work. It's just embarrassing at this point.

  57. 257

This is no worse or better than any of the other generic songs we've been getting lately. What in rock isn't generic and over produced? Let me be the first musician on the planet to rebel against rock - for me it's over. t’s become everything it started out rebelling against. Let it join barbershop quartets, and ragtime as last century music.
When every song sounds generic and over produced, I want a change:
Rock and roll started out being exciting and worth saving. Not now. What’s to save? Divas, boy bands, auto tuned voices, alt groups that rebel against low ticket prices?
There is a new music that is exciting to me: *WOW, world open wide or Post-Bands Music – it upsets everybody in the fake music business.””

When musicians start opposing what rock has become instead of falling into it's generic molds, then I'll be impressed.”

  78. Tom says – reply to this

You would say that. Throwing more shade on Lady GaGa for whatever vindictive reasons you have against her. You know for a FACT that if this came out when you were still on good terms with one another that you would be all OVER this shit. Did you think any of her others songs were "radio friendly"? Do you think other people could relate to songs like "Paparazzi" and "Alejandro"? You are so transparent, Perez. I'm sure you also think you're a shining example for your son. You're pathetic. You act like you are this changed man yet at your core, you are still a jerk and a pretty horrible person. A pretty irrelevant & contradictory hypocrite.

  79. lala says – reply to this

People he has his own right not to like the song. That's ok. Not everyone is a fan nor will he enjoy it. Although I do believe you saying it isn't "radio friendly" is a huge compliment. That's what gaga is trying to achieve! I love it and can't stop listening to it! Paws up!!!!

  82. Shawn says – reply to this

HAHAHAH! PEREZ "It sounds a little too weird for us" It's called ORIGINAL Perez…..I love how you know put Katy Perry on a pedestal, her song is a rip-off of Sara Bareilles "Brave" but it wasn't ok for Gaga to sing the chorus similar from "Born This Way" to "Express Yourself" Your such a hypocritical douche-bag, I don't know why I come back to your site…..I'm going to stop, your trash like the Kardashians and Lindsay Lohan

  83. John says – reply to this

AWFUL - now she's painting her face at least she's mastered covering up that face of hers!!!!

  84. Charles says – reply to this

the beat is sick and radio friendly. It makes u wanna dance.
U said it's weird? NO! For me it's actually too common for it's Lady Gaga.
Bad Romance, Judas, Born this way is weird. In a way good and revolutionary way. Appaluse is too radio friendly for me as opposing ur biased opinion.
Personally im not really into the song coz it's not really artistic nor it's revolutionary like what she used to do. But i have to comment here to tell you in person that i really disappointed with ur biasness and ur credibility in music taste is pretty much ruined for me now.

  85. Wil says – reply to this

Um Applause is weird but Poker Face and Government Hooker weren't? Or Judas for that matter? Or even Bad Romance? You're a hypocrite. You fell out of Gaga's favor and now all you can do is bash her. Notice she hasn't said one word about you. She's better than that. You're trash with money. You're no better than Paris Hilton. Famous and rich and no discernible talent to speak of.

  86. 286

I really don't understand. I have a music industry degree, currently looking into a masters and my own business and this mentally stunted bully is raking it in with "reviews" such as this. His grammar is horrendous and this isn't even a valid review… it's perez having a bitch fit as gaga realised she doesn't need him… grow up and be a farther!!
