But the point of the documentary was to see how far the girls would go and how dedicated they were. Why would they encourage that?

I'm in my 20s and an admitted fan of One Direction. I was also a fan of N'Sync back when spikey hair and bleached tips were something to ogle over. All I can say is that fans will be fans and at times they'll get crazy (obsessed) with these boy bands because the truth is, they don't know them really. Getting an autograph or watching an interview isn't getting to know the real person. So instead they paint a perfect image in their head that is completely real to them, but might be a misrepresentation entirely of how these boys really act when they're not being "One Direction." I doubt the girls in this documentary are faking any of it, but it would be nice to see a pool of people selected that show the complete range of 1D fans, not just the ones who apparently play ding-dong-ditch in the band members' alleged hotel rooms. If capturing the small percentage of this fandom that acts out in abnormal behavior was the intent of the documentary, then by all means watch if you'd like. I'll save my time for the documentary released by One Direction themself.

(I realize this is a long comment, but I'm bored at work and I really like 1D in a healthy non-obsessive way)

BBC and channel 4 are two separate tv channels and are unrelated. Get your facts right Perez.

I don't like one direction…at all and I get hate for that, I like Japanese anime and manga many people don't like it , do I hate them? No but if you don't like one direction you MUST be a jealous hater , It's annoying

The fact that Liam promotes this type of behavior is ridiculous. I know they fill your wallets with endless amounts of money, but there's a line that needs to be drawn. He knows from first-hand experience that their fans can get extremely crazy at times and there's absolutely NO WAY he hasn't seen the things they say. And instead of telling them to cool it down, he pretends he doesn't see it and then makes some ridiculous statuses about how they have the best fans in the world and no one can say otherwise, thus making the psycho fans think it's okay to act like that. I'm about tired of One Direction.

LOL. Once again, 1D saying all the things these mentals want to hear. Liam should be ashamed for encouraging this kind of behavior, but truth is, what else is he going to say? I am sure he would like to continue to have his pockets filled with endless money.

Sadly, it is going to take someone getting badly hurt, or worse, for this shit to stop. U.S. Directioners are just as bad, in some cases, worse.

I'm sure 1D like most bands doesn't want fans to become too crazy over them. But its not like they can control it, its not their fault some people get too obsessed. You wonder where are these kids parents? Don't their parents know they going a little overboard and have a talk with them or get them some help? All bands have this kind of problem, some more than others but not sure what 1D can do to prevent it? I'm sure they don't enjoy spending millions of security and having stuff like used tampons thrown on stage, but then that's the price of fame. Still unfair to blame them or label their fanbase as crazies just because of a few who have some mental issues.
