Sure they have the same "feel" but isn't that the point of having genre's of music. Yes a lot of classical music, reggae, rap, pop is going to have the "same feel". The songs do not sound familiar to me. Sounds like the family members are looking for a pay day.

Are they serious saying it has no similarities? Are we hearing the same song, because it absolutely does sound very similar. So much so that I thought it was an actual sample of Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up." They definitely owe the family royalties from this song.

Linda I agree 100% with your comment. The first time I heard "Blurred Lines" I thought "this song sounds a lot like "Got To Give It Up" by Marvin Gaye.
I was a teenager when "Got To Give It Up" came out so I know the song very well. :)

So Marvin Gaye's dad killed him because of his "sinful music" and now the rest of the family wants to bank off of it decades later? Somehow that is not completely surprising. Fuckers.

I cannot comment on "Sexy Ways" because I never heard it. (Oh Did you offer George the 6 figures?) Thicke is saying his song is an original what a laugh. Every song that I know of by Thicke has Marvin's groove. Got to Give It Up was not an era it was a song. THE song that made everybody dance… That is why it was so special and still is. Thicke is a thief, in my opinion and it's a shame, he could have just signed the family on for royalties and gave Marvin his props and go on to the next Marvin Gaye sounding song. But no …he wants to make Marvin's groove his own …like we don't hear what we hear. Soon he will realize what a huge mistake that was. Why be greedy, how much money can one man have. Again I encourage the Gaye family to fight this with every thing they have. Marvin would. I am a life long fan of Marvin's …he's in my dna…and there are MILLIONS just like me. I think the idea of Robin Thicke stealing money from Marvin's kids after he's build his entire career trying to be Marvin is just MORALLY OBSCENE.
