Lee Thompson Young Allegedly Suffered Depression Before Suicide

Even more heartbreaking news…

According to sources that were close to the recently deceased Lee Thompson Young, Lee had been suffering from depression in the weeks leading up to his apparent suicide that's shocked us all.

Apparently, Lee wasn't the partying or drinking type, as one source had this to say about the late Jett Jackson:

"He was the opposite. Lee loved to travel and was always the first to tell everyone to take a breath and enjoy the beauty of life."

Young's relatives were worried that his close friends no longer lived in El Lay, according to a source, and that he was mostly surrounded by "industry types."

It is sad to think that Lee could potentially feel like he was alone, when it's clear how much he meant to so many based on the outpouring of condolences.

We sincerely wish those close to Young our deepest sympathies in these troubling times.

For those out there who are going through a dark time, know that there's always someone you can talk to. Websites like The Suicide Prevention Life Line (which also has a hotline: 1-800-273-TALK) and SAVE can get you through this!

You think? He certainly didn't kill himself because he was happy. Jeez.

  2. 2

Sad. I remember watching his TV show on Disney. It's a shame he didn't seek help or didn't get the proper help. Suicides are just so tragic.

Wait? He was depressed? Man, I thought he killed himself for the fun of it.

I really liked him on Rizzoli and Isles. He seemed like such a happy-go-lucky person. you just never know what's going on with people. Very sad. RIP.

"everyone always cares after the fact, beforehand, no one gives a shit" HipChick, not everyone exhibits serious signs of depression. I doubt any of those who knew him were aware of how badly he was hurting.

Re: HipChick – Not true. when my husbands sisters were struggling with depression people tried to be there for them. After we lost his first sister, we encouraged the other one to please talk to a professional. She didn't. Everyone did there best to be there for her, and in the end we still lost her to.

Don't assume because someone commits suicide that nobody cared or was there.

Re: IzzyLizzy – instead of commenting stupid shit like this about a serious matter, how about you keep it to yourself because your two-sense is irrelevant and unnecessary during a time like this.

Re: Lady Amalthea – Lady I am so sorry for your double loss. Hope you are feeling better soon. Losing one is always very hard.

Re: Lady Amalthea – By "professional" you mean "useless money-hungry drug dealer wearing rose-tinted glasses and gets paid thousands from the pharmaceutical companies to dope everyone up to their eyeballs in Prozac, blame them for their mental illness and use ineffective text-book answers to actually traumatic situations".

Courtney - I agree with your info on the psychiatrist, and let's not rule out drug or alcohol abuse also

Re: CourtneySucks – Please. What a way to categorize everyone in a profession into one stereotype. Not all people in that profession are out to drug the world up. It is people like YOU who spread this stigma about mental illness that causes people to choose NOT to seek help when they need it. Corruption exists in every career. That doesn't mean the whole lot of them are in it for the money. Some truly DO care. and DO help. When you assume they are all the same that makes you ignorant.

Re: teeter totter – Thank you. It was a horrible start to a new year. My husband struggles with depression, has his whole life, and I honestly don't know if he'd get through losing them both so soon if it wasn't for a combination of professional help and a sound support system.

Re: CourtneySucks – Once again you are generalizing. which makes you the ignorant one.
