Following the horrible news of Lee Thompson Young's death yesterday, his TV show is now on an indefinite hiatus so that cast and crew members can grieve the 29-year-old's passing.

Young played Detective Barry Frost on the TNT series Rizzoli & Isles alongside Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

On Monday morning after Lee didn't show up to the set, producers called his landlord. He was later found dead in his apartment of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Lee's long-time manager Jonathan Baruch confirmed the suicide in a statement, saying:

"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning. Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed. We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends at this difficult time."

Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved Lee.

R.I.P.

I'm sad about this. I really liked him. I am sad that he was hurting so bad inside that he felt this was the only way out.

Suicide should be legal. If people don't want to live then that's up to them.

a lot of celebs are taking their lives, either by drugs or actually killing themselves lately. it just goes to show you that money & fame does not solve all of lifes problems. i really love rizzoli & isles and he was a good character but people are not their characters. hope the show doesn't get cancelled. i dealt with depression, severe depression when i was younger and did years of therapy. i urge anyone dealing with even temporary sadness to reach out, reach out to friends/family/co-workers or even strangers through the internet. there are other options, suicide affects so many more people then just the one person committing the act. get help to prevent it.

So sorry to hear this news. I love the show and always liked his portrayal of Barry Frost; it always seemed like there was some good chemistry among the actors on the show. He will be missed. R.I.P.

What a stupid thing to say: "suicide should be legal." Clearly, your brain is scattered, based on your ID and your comment, so I won't waste time trying to reason with you.

Good for you Holly Martin: a well thought you and compassionate response. Good for you for seeking help and understanding the depth of this type of issue. Help is available, but don't count on the internet. People on the internet can be cold and judgmental.

Re: Scatter – I agree. No-one has an obligation to stay alive for anyone. Those who think otherwise are SELFISH ASSHOLES.
