Justin Timberlake's *NSYNC Bandmates "Upset" Because Their Reunion Was WAY Too Short!

| Filed under: Justin TimberlakeMusic MinuteLance BassJ.C. ChasezVMAsGIFs

bye bye bye nsync

2 friggin' songs!!!

That's all Justin Timberlake was willing to sing with his fellow former *N SYNC-ers at the VMAs!

Sure, we hit decibels we didn't think we could reach when we saw JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone ascend from under the stage to give us the reunion the universe had been waiting for!

But 2 friggin' songs?!?

It sounds like JT's old bandmates were just as disappointed as we were too!

Sources close to the guys say the original plan was for there to be MORE *N SYNC during Timberlake's 15+ minute performance!

But that idea was scrapped in favor of giving Justin the spotlight on his big night!

An insider dished:

"They were pushing for more. While he was thrilled they could come for him, he didn't want the reunion to be the whole thing. They originally were told that it was going to be more of their old hits, not just Bye Bye Bye [and Girlfriend], but then Justin reworked it."

Well, OK. We're not going to cry Justin a river. This WAS his moment, as the winner of the Video Vanguard Award.

And just as Beyoncé was gracious enough to invite the girls of Destiny's Child back for her Super Bowl Half Time Show, we think it's pretty AH-Mazing that JT thought of his homeboys not only to share the stage with him but ALSO during his acceptance speech!

The guys in the group certainly aren't holding any grudges about their time on stage either. Our source also explained:

"They loved being all back together! It felt like the old days!"

Short as it may have been, it was still a dream come true!

Cough…reunion tour! ….cough, cough!!!

"The reunion the universe was waiting for" - What universe are you from

They sucked. Their harmonies were aweful.

Wish they could have done like a medley of their hits. Wish they would have cut Miley Cyrus entirely and let them have more stage time.

Is anyone surprised? Justin Timberlake is an arrogant, overrated douchbag. He wasn't going to give a spotlight to the group that GAVE HIM HIS START and made it possible for him to be where he is today. They gave him almost 20 minutes, and he couldn't sacrifice a fraction of that. But you know what they say about people who forget where they come from.

I think JT wanted to get ride of this association (with the group) once and for all. He was probably constantly asked about it (this reunion), so last night he closed down a chapter of his life. It is kind of sad that they went (other members of the group) to their own slaughtering (own death? dissolution)… just to pave the way for JT's new beginnings (and he said it himself btw, that what's ahead is nothing compared to what we have seen so far). He must feel really relieved. So it was sad that it happened (and like that, two songs) just to pave the way for him…. I hate to say it guys but you have been totally instrumentalized.

I was disappointed. That is what I was waiting for! Justin did a good job on his performance but I was dancing and excited and then just boom it was over.

Dude… people need to get OVER IT! Yes i was an nsync fan too… they were by far the best boy bad ever. But this was JUSTINS night… his award… fan or no fan of him, he's had an incredible solo career. There are not too many artists of this generation that have actual talent and don't have to rely on outrageous outfits and selling them selves out to be a success… he is one of the very few. I think it was nice of him to acknowledge his past. None of his songs were full length, the point was to showcase all of his work.

JT has become an attention whore lately. Would have loved to see a longer NSYNC performance. JT has been singing the same stuff over and over and over. Very disappointed.

Kevin Heart told the truth they were old, out of shape and could hardly keep up. Besides Justin has become so use to being a solo star for so long, of course he wasn't going to share the spot light but for so long.

I fail to see what exactly he did wrong. Two songs are fine, after all it was HIS award, hell he could of just not have them there to begin with. Not to mention that some of them could have done with a little more practice. *cough*lance*cough*

More? Please. They looked like they were going to collapse with the exercise if they did any more. Their harmonizing was horrible, too. They're way too out of shape.

I was so disappointed! This is the reason why I can't stand Justin Timberlake. He steals all the spotlight and thinks he is the shit. I like him way better when he was with NSYNC, the group compliments him. In fact, I think he gave a much better performance with NSYNC than as a solo artist.

Re: Princess-peach – Hi princess peach, I have to agree with you. No one contests that it was his big night but what happened last night was a definite closure under justin's terms. Whereas before the group stood on its on feet , as an IDENTITY. But now this has been stolen from them. We will always remember this night as the end (the final end) of the group and the beginning of Justin's most promising career (maybe that's why jessica wore black???). The only thing I would have done different, 3 songs with them and definitely I wouldn't have sent the post mentioning that his career is just the beginning (that haven't seen anything yet). He should have toned it down a little because after all it was the dissolution of the group.

nsync always was Justin and the Timberlakes, and Justin has been quite vocal in his "embarrassment" about his beginnings with the group. The urban R&B music industry picked Justin as their golden boy. Honestly has he EVER done anything without someone ELSE as a major collab either in songwriting, producing or singing? Seriously? I saw the eat shyte look JC (who has a voice that makes Justine sound like the girly he is) gave him because the mics for the group had been turned down. I highly doubt there will be a "true" reunion for these guys–enjoy the momentary boost your CDs sales are giving to BMG/JIVE.

  16. 16

JT is actually a very talented man, and he was being recognized for that talent. He decided to include his old friends in his celebration and they're going to whine about not getting more time in HIS set? Really? He didn't have to even mention them, let alone include them. That's not arrogant, that's pretty damn cool of him.

  17. Danagurl says – reply to this

anyone else see ryan gosling in the bottom left corner dancing?! or super look alike haha

  18. erin says – reply to this

perez, WHERE do you get this info from? JC Chasez told Ryan Seacrest that JUSTIN approached the boys about singing with him, and they all agreed it was all about JT. Chris Kirkpatrick even complained he was too old for this and that he had difficulties keeping up with the dance moves. It was always supposed to be that short, and that many songs, and they were fine with it.

Well the best thing about watching 'NSYNC now compared to 2000 is that I did not have to watch the whole thing live, just to see them. Really wish the medley was more than two songs. I get it was Justin's night, but really 'NSYNC was a big part of his career. Well at least he acknowlege it, sort of. The only reason I even bought his first CD was because of 'NSYNC and I haven't bought any sense. "I saw the eat shyte look JC (who has a voice that makes Justine sound like the girly he is) gave him because the mics for the group had been turned down." I was wondering, seemed odd, JC has a lot of power, yet it was a bit soft. I really hope they have a reunion at some point, never got to see them in their hay-day. Just an observation, Justin did seem more comfortable on stage with the group than alone.

If your going to quote Us Weekly, which you are doing, then you should also quote Joey Fatone who tweeted them to let them know this story was a total lie.

justin timberlake just uses people to further his career ….surprise surprise

  24. LATINAS CAN READ MINDS says – reply to this

They can hear, and see what you’re visually thinking. This is the absolute complete truth!!!!!
The reason a lot of Latinas have completely expressionless faces is so they don’t accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don’t like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Latinas segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Latinas also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.
Try thinking, and visually picturing things that are as wild as you can when you are around Latinas, and look for Latinas who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason.

Economists say "Human beings are insatiable". First, people call Justin arrogant and other names cuz he doesn't acknowledge NSync. Then He acknowledges them and even performs with them (saying -YOU ASKED FOR IT, ie, the fans)….. and now people say "Oh he just used them"… "It was too short"… "It symbolized the dissolution of Nsync" … blah blah blah. People are never satisfied. People will always talk. You can't please everyone, so there's really no point in trying. I pity the folks in the limelight…. It's so easy for those outside the limelight to just sit back and judge and make assumptions and draw "fact-less" analysis like they really do understand everything going on with them. Was wonderful to see the guys together again and, at the same time, it's wonderful to see JT doing good.

  26. PN says – reply to this

I think the 2 minutes with NSYNC was enough because Justin is more focused on his current music and solo career and kept most of the performance to his 3 to 4 albums' songs. You don't want to get TOO nostalgic–it's more in the lines of MTV and their awards and their thinking ahead and not looking back. He didn't want to do it like New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men did on their summer tour. But it was fun to see them reunited. That said, I wanted them to do It's Gonna Be Me–my favorite from them–I played it a lot this past weekend along with Bye Bye Bye!

  27. pn says – reply to this

One of my favorite reaction scenes–Taylor Swift! She was covering her face in shock! I'm sure NSYNC was one of her favorite groups growing up given her genre is country. She looked like she was about to faint! Selena Gomez too! That crowd in Brooklyn got louder as the other 4 members got lifted up onto the stage! I don't think the bandmates should be upset. They should be proud that they shared that moment with Justin on stage for 2 songs in 2 minutes! A lot of these reunion performances go like this as far back as the '70s and '80s!

  28. PN says – reply to this

I found myself pulling out my old NSYNC albums when there were rumors about this reunion performance this past week and weekend. Wasn't sure how Justin was going to work it into his peformance, but it went very perfectly despite that short 2 minutes. And he remembered those choreographed moves! He was more focused on singing his own songs in that 15 minute performance. Made you feel like you were at his stadium concert this summer and got a free ticket instead of plunking lots of money for it! They showed One Direction during that short reunion performance–maybe a blueprint of how to have longevity in the music business.

….when miley steals the show, what does that say about the show ?

  30. LZ says – reply to this

Why can't people just appreciate the end of an era the way it should be. THE END OF AN ERA. they wanted to go out with a bang (or out of breathe which ever comes first for a few of them). Closure at its finest (or fastest?)
Same goes for Miley!! If you didn't pee yourself in laughter when she had dancing Teddy Bears enter stage then you seriously need a slap in the face. She told you in every interview - BE YOURSELF - did you expect her to give us anything less than that hysterical performance. She wanted the attention and she sure as F*** got it!!!
why can't we look at the purpose behind MTV - ENTERTAINMENT!!! we got that for sho!!!
Leave it to one of the youngest celebrities in Hollywood to give us a good show!!! besides - EVERY performance was more pathetic than the last. WHAT IS HAPPENING? no one wants to spend money on dazzling us any more?
good for Miley giving us entertainment!!!!

  32. talamox says – reply to this

If they want to sing more then go on tour. It's the MTV awards not the overage boy group show. JT doesn't care because he's doing just fine solo. Also, how could they have fit the girl with the tongue and no ass into the time limit the show had.
