But I don't think that was Miley being herself. She seems like a desperately confused young woman who has no idea who she is. I think that is what happens when you loose your childhood to Hollywood, then suddenly find yourself in a woman's body, but with a child's mind. Pete is right about the double standard though. Miley is getting so much heat for being vulgar, yet Thicke gets nominated for awards for making rape cute.

  2. 2

It's too bad no one cares what Pete thinks. It's 2013, not 2005.

  3. 3

The problem, Pete, is that this is not the "real" Miley, she's doing it for attention. All of sudden she is so down with black urban culture, when a couple years ago she didn't even know a Jay-Z song. She's faker than a 3 dollar bill, and as far as her being sexy on stage, that was not being sexy that was pathetic. I was so embarrassed for her.

  4. 4

Someone needs to punch her in the face, and then slap that dumb, moronic look off her face. This is what you get when you're educated in a movie trailer. The "everyone is a mess when they're 20" nonsense doesn't apply. Miley, stop it, don't be a tool..fool.

  5. 5

Oh, and lay off the drugs.

  6. 6

all these untalented fake "artists" always have to one up each other. Cant wait till one of these kiddie stars starts sucking cock on stage

  7. 7

Don't support stupidity. Miley looked like a DAMNED FOOL. She should be embarrassed. The girl has no ass and looks like she's popped one to many molly's. She next on the intervention list.

I was reading an article where they were talking to Thicke's wife and asking her if she was bothered by the performance. She said she had been at the many practices that Miley and her husband had had for that performance and "no" she was not bothered by it. People just assume that Miley was the one responsible for this "performance". Obviously it was scripted…didn't notice many yelling about Gaga's bare ass but then she never was a nice girl, was she?

  15. 15

Funny I thought her act at the vma's secured her spot as president of all the fake people of her generation…

  16. 16

Oh it's not being fearless, but more like a spoiled brat acting out however she wants because no one has ever told her NO. Not Even her own parents, probably because she pays all their bills..

Oh my dear! This you wrote:
'Was there a male singer in nude-colored underwear twerking that we missed?'
You are too funny and very entertaining!
That I would have loved to see - too bad that isn't what we saw instead … :-)

Lets face it ol' Miley is trying to take her attention away from those gums! I mean Jamie Foxx said it best " Whats with those gums?" A buzzcut, dancin all wigged out, and a big fingers in going to the track my attention from those damn gums! SORRY

  22. 22

I think he's right. I think she's being herself. She and Taylor Momsen are alike. One's hip hop and one is rock and roll. I wasn't surprised by her vma performance. But I wish she would keep her tongue in her damn mouth. That's actually the only thing I can't stand.

  23. 23

Re: Barbara – LOL I just saw the pics. People are saying it was because of the Gaga feud. Less than 50 people. Sad.

SERIOUSLY! How sad our society has become.Gone are the days of self respect & dignity. When you display actions like this,it is a cry for help. She made such a ass of herself.Did you see the faces of other entertainers in the audiences? And these we

re the guys, they didn't seem impressed at all, they were hanging their heads. She is a disgusting, disturb girl who needs put in her place. But ya know, you can't just blame her.Where are the people who create these shows,is there no restrictions for how far these morons can go?.I will never watch the VMA shows again because it's such an insult to ones intelligence.I don't need to watch overpaid UNTALENTED WHORES &
DRUG ADDICTS,which are products of washed up ENTERTAINERS!

They can all defend her but the truth is, there is no defense for her act. There was no artistic interpretation, no real music, nothing of value. Her biggest fans are young teenage girls whose mom and dads buy them her songs or pay the allowance that buys her songs. If my kid was one of those teens, they'd never get another cent to buy anything with the words Miley Cyrus written on it. She can't sing, so she used her body to divert attention from that fact.

1st in order to twerk you have to have an A$$, when you are only shaking your thighs & lower back it's an insult to those who can twerk.
2nd she's not Hannah Montana that was a character she is a GROWN A$$ WOMAN LET IT GO.

A year or two ago being all herself and fearless in public like that would have had Billy Rae grounding her for six months or a year.

Women are objectified enough in our culture. Women in this country are not valued or treated the same as their male counterparts. Miley's "performance" just made it clear that in order for a woman to be noticed, they need to use their sexuality, and not their talent. And what bothers me the most is, years ago when she was making good and clean music (although I am not a fan), she was respected and at least not a world laughing stock. It's like Madonna started this bullshit idea that in order to relevent you need to display sexuality for the world to see. It's really gross and annoying that after all these years all that America can show for themselves is that we are over sexual and we are gun crazy!

When the hair goes, there are deep problems. Just sayin… She didn't shave her head, but she might as well have. It's a symptom. When I was young and hated myself, what did I do? I cut my hair really short. Get rid of the hair, but it makes nothing better. I'm not saying either Britney nor Miley hate themselves, they might have other issues, but that was MY problem and off came the hair.

I think the point is that while she's being mercilessly shamed for twerking in a revealing outfit, Robin Thicke is being praised and glorified for objectifying women whilst singing a song that strongly suggests 'blurred lines' between consent and rape. If that's not double standards I don't know what is.

I am a 56 year old woman and I think what Miley did was ok, People got to understand she isn't a little Disney girl no more she is a grown woman. I think what she did was ok, so Miley forget everything all these people are saying. you did really good when you where dancing.
