He can't say the world didn't warn him!!!
Since director Paul Schrader hired Lindsay Lohan to bare her boobies in his film well over a year ago, the director feels he's been victimized by her "unspeakable behavior."
Paul says he's anxious to put LiLo in his rear-view mirror, yet he had no trouble slamming the gurl with more shade than a solar eclipse this week while he was promoting The Canyons at the Venice Film Festival.
"Today I am free. In the past 16 months, I have been hostage to Lindsay Lohan. She is a great actress, she should be here, but her behavior is unspeakable."
We're sure putting his career in her hands was stressful, but to say he was her hostage sounds a bit melodramatic!!
Or poetic. Hmm…
Paul was joined by writer Bret Easton Ellis, co-star James Deen, and Mr. Deen's magical peen, but Lindz did NOT make the trip to Italy.
Apparently homegurl was apprehensive about mixing it up at a festival after fighting so hard recently to regain her sobriety.
A source close to her revealed:
"Yes, nobody thought it was a good idea for her to go. That sort of atmosphere, the festival, the parties. The culture of it is drinking and celebration and not in line with keeping her on the right track."
We're sure her presence would've helped get her film a little more attention, but honestly we admire her decision to make her own health the priority!!
Good luck staying sober, gurl — sorry The Canyons was such a dud!
