12 confirmed dead in navy yard shootings

We had hoped the death toll would remain low in the Washington Navy Yard shootings, but it turns out to be worse than we feared.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier has officially confirmed that there have been 12 known fatalities at the hands of the shooter.

A number of other injuries have also been reported, including to police officers.

As we previously reported, one gunman has been killed, but police are on the lookout for two more possible shooters- a white male and a black male, both between the ages of 40 and 50.

The FBI is now leading that ongoing investigation.

No motive is yet known for the killings, but our hearts go out to the families of the dozen innocents we lost today.

You don't have a heart for anyone but yourself, you disgusting, selfish queer. No one comes here for your pathetic, twisted postings about real news. You're a lazy gossip hack.

Read about this earlier on Yahoo, so sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims. One of the shooters was apparently ex-Navy who had been dishonorably discharge. I did not read the full story.
YWA - I owned guns for years and never shot anything other than a bird I intended to eat, such as dove or quail. Oh, and skeet once.
