I find it HILARIOUS that she is now backtracking and saying that Dark Horse is not a single since it didn't skyrocket to number 1 worldwide. When in fact it was intentionally supposed to be the second single… really KATY?

I'm sorry, but that Roar song isn't all that. I think Lady GaGa songs are better and I don't care about either artist.

Re: Dangerrr – It was never intended to be the second single. She announced RIGHT AFTER THE VOTE that it would be a PROMO single, or a PREVIEW of Prism.

Re: ?? – There are lots of people with the palm tree photo. If you have an actual Perez Hilton account then that's the stock photo.

Re: ?? – The palm tree photo is the default avatar, I could not figure out how to post an avatar, so just went with the default.

Re: Dangerrr – What are you talking about? No one EVER said it would be a single. It was always promotional. Get your facts straight dude.

These damn pop artists/pop artist teams/record labels are so transparent. "Dark Horse" hasn't been able to overtake "Roar," and, as per usual, business is ruining art. There's pressure to maintain the image that Katy Perry is a record-breaking juggernaut on the Billboard Hot 100. Why can't music be about putting out the ideas and sounds that the artists feel are most appropriate. We've seen this happen so many times before: Mariah Carey's "Triumphant," Christina Aguilera's "Woohoo," Lady Gaga's "Hair," Mary J. Blige's "Someone to Love Me (Naked)," and Beyonce's "1 + 1." Obviously, if these so-called "promotional singles" performed well enough on the charts, the artists and labels would jump on-board with them and recognize them as official singles. Why is it that this kind of behavior doesn't happen with artists like The Black Keys or KT Tunstall? Oh, that's right. They don't play these cowardly "music-is-actually-soulless-and-only-a-business" games.

Re: Joy – Oh, of course. Katy Perry is clearly talented. I mean…you have to be *beyond* Juilliard's standards to jump-rope onstage during what is supposed to be a musical performance while a backing vocal track plays. Clearly, Yo-Yo Ma pales in comparison to Katy Perry because he actually plays his cello and performs music that is so intricate and difficult that just one second of it leaves Katy Perry's entire music catalog in the dust. If he could jump-rope onstage while a prerecorded track of him playing Dvorak's cello concerto played, *then* he would clearly have a finely-developed talent. Maybe then he could have a recording hit #1 on the Hot 100. Maybe then droves of young girls and gay boys would buy his music and get in childish name-calling wars with "haters." Katy Perry has just set the bar of artistry so impossibly high!

Re: sohaveiforyou83 – She did this with her last album too. This isn't a ploy, she just wants people to hear a preview of what the cd will be like.
