of all the people in the world to sing "yesterday" they chose carrie underwood? good grief, that is really bad casting.

The worst rendition of "Yesterday" ever!! I thought I saw her nose reverberate with the notes coming out of it!! It was so "Nasal" that it sounded like someone's fingernails scratching through the blackboard!! Piercingly painful to the eardrums!! They couldn't find anyone else to sing such a beautifully written song! What! Hollywood is running out of talent. They could have found someone in a Karaoke bar who could probably sing that song better than Underwood. How disappointing for the Emmy's lineup. Neil Patcick was great, the dance numbers were phenomenal and then Underwood came and "bleated" Yesterday!! Pathetic!!

The only thing on TELEVISION Carrie Underwood has done was "American Idol" and that was almost 10 years ago. I'm sure they could've gotten someone better. And made the "History Of Television" a little better, instead of looking like a rememberance of The Beatles that should've been on the Grammys.

if it was not for her tits and blonde hair and auto tune studio records she would not have a career

My wife and I both agreed this was one of the best performances ever of this song second only to the Beatles. This girl is just a flat out amazing singer and total class act!

Re: KLGARD1963 – You sound like a Taylor Swift fan. Swift cannot sing a note without some electronic help and if it weren't for her hair-tossing and what SHE thinks is sexy strutting around the stage, she wouldn't be where she is. Carrie U. has NEVER used autotune on any of her records or any of her live performances. Though she was in a completely foreign mileu last night, and she did start out a little tentatively, she did NOT ruin the song. You obviously just have a thing against her and probably haven't followed her amazing output of hits and songs that she could release today from her past albums that would BECOME hits. She happens to be a lovely person who's also lovely looking. Very few great female singers from ANY era always made perfect records or performed perfectly every time they recorded live. Underwood happens to have an incredible range and can sing sweetly on really high notes and go effortlessly to low notes with an UNstrained sound. Try listening to some of her songs.

While I am definite Carrie Underwood fan, I have to agree that the performance was a bit underwhelming. She is a phenomenal singer, but even singers at that level are human and will not always be spot on. I am still a die=hard fan.
