Luke's Kemosabe label is responsible for the flopping of the album. It's a great album and critically acclaimed for a pop album. Even NPR gave it a positive review. It failed because the label decided to release 3 generic party songs in a row rather than release the stronger tracks as singles. They also kept some very strong songs like Meet Me In Space off the album in favor of generic dance pop songs. There are a few songs on the album where her songwriting seemed lazy and vocally she didn't seem to give a damn about what she was singing like Wherever You Are. Yet on the country ballad Wonderland her songwriting was A+ and she was emotionally connected to the song. Forcing her to write and sing songs she didn't want to do was not a good idea. It's still a great album though and I'm sure she's proud of it even if it wasn't exactly what she wanted.

Re: WO – I like Ke$ha & the album, but Die Young & Crazy Kids are in fact the two best songs on the album. But I'm sure the guys a douche either way.

I don't think it's luke, it's RCA Records for choosing C'mon and Crazy Kids. Why don't they release Last Goodbye? It's a top 10 for sure…

I agree with this petition and support it but I don't think she wasn't forced to write anything, but they forced her to put some songs on "warrior" that they felt was best for her image rather than what actually sounded good. That's what record companies do. I heard some of the unreleased music and its lovely. but anyway sign and share the petition here:

If that album was a huge hit there would be no negative media. When she does loud rock songs with her voice it's not going to be on the radio. People are like wtf turn that off and stick to the "Don't Stop Make it Pop" sound that made her a start in the first place. When it gets down to it it's all about making money. Technically it's her 2nd album this is predictable but the 3rd album will be ground breaking. Why sign with Dr. Luke though, you had to see it coming. Guess it was the best deal at the time and an offer no one would ever refuse. It is Dr. LUKE. But it backfired ever since the off beat hipster revival in music Coachellaish sounds started becoming hits and the norm that standard pop music like Dr. Luke is considered mediocre.
