Miley Cyrus Criticizes America's Love Of Breaking Bad When Sexy VMA Performance Is Shamed! Quote Of The Day!

miley cyrus aaron paul breaking bad criticism

"America is just so weird in what they think is right and wrong. Like, I was watching Breaking Bad the other day, and they were cooking meth. I could literally cook meth because of that show. It's a how-to. And then they bleeped out the word 'f*ck.' And I'm like, really? They killed a guy, and disintegrated his body in acid, but you're not allowed to say 'f*ck'? It's like when they bleeped 'molly' at the VMAs. Look what I'm doing up here right now, and you're going to bleep out 'molly'? Whatever."

i actually completely agree with her. it's really interesting how we pick and choose what to be pissed about. you tell 'em girl!

  2. 2

The VMA's was rated family, Breaking Bed is not. Nice try Miley. Anyway, no-one noticed what you were singing because they were too disgusted by your tongue wagging, dry humping and masturbating.

  3. 3

Well… its apples and oranges idiot… the award shows are meant for families..its prime time network TV, Breaking Bad is NOT targeted at families. It is a drama, it is not scheduled in prime time and it is not on network TV. There is a time and a place for sex and violence, network TV, family shows are not the time or the place to be twerking…

  4. ashes says – reply to this

hmmm…. i am guessing she just said this to make herself feel better b /c you can't really compare violence and sex…. which virtually is what she is trying to do. I would not let me kids watch breaking bad but I would apparently very stupidly have let them watch the vmas… it is all about your audience not what you personally view as appropriate or does she forget the people are who determine her success and failure

  5. mi says – reply to this

    she is right

  6. 6

Ummm no girl…It's like comparing apples to oranges. I don't know of ONE person who sits there watching Breaking Bad taking notes on how to cook meth. It's simply not JUST about that. There is drama and other underlining issues. In fact, I don't remember seeing Walt cook at all is this last season because there are bigger things going on with his character. They are respected actors doing just that…acting. What's that got to do with her gyrating on stage and masturbating publicly? Absolutely nothing. And let's just say that she is somewhat right, since when do two wrongs make a right? She is so immature…from what she wears to what she talks about to how she attempts to "defend" herself. Please go away. You're like the Kardashians that no one seems to get rid of. Sick of your shaven head, camel toe, flat behind and white coated dirty ass tongue everywhere.

Re: phishygrl – Took the words right out of my mouth..

  8. Victoria says – reply to this

Didn't one time she say she DIDN'T say Molly. That she actually said MILEY, but her accent made it sound like MOLLY??? Interesting…

  9. 9

btw the VMA's is not a family event…celebs are always pulling the craziest things at this particular awards show…any parent that would even allow their young child to watch that in the first place needs to rethink their life choices…seriously though.

  10. Roxanna says – reply to this

I agree with her 100%! This wasn't the Grammy's… it was the VMA's that have a reputation for these sorts of performances and content…. they've had worse. So if you're not going to let your kids watch BB…. you can also make the call not let them watch the vma's. People need to get over it… there is MUCH worse on television. As far as her performance goes…it was just a bad performance. I remember when 19 year old Britney did that strip-tease performance back in 2000… it was controversial, but it was a good performance… she was hot… she could dance… she was a strong dancer and it showed. Miley's performance was just…. AWKWARD!

  11. 11

She really is dense, comparing her garbage performances to a show that is a piece of art. Breaking Bad is not promoting bad behavior, on the contrary, you see people's lives completely ruined by the horrible choices they're making. However, the genius in the show is in the fantastic storytelling and performances and the show makes a statement about humanity, albeit it's not the greatest statement, but the observances about human nature are spot-on. Miley just makes a statement about a spoiled little rich girl that has lost her mind, there is absolutely nothing artistic about her current image, music and whatever those gyrations are. The only value Miley currently has is shock value.

  12. 12

    Girl's got a point!

  13. 13

Not comparable at all. The MTV awards are on during prime time…my cousin who's in Grade 6 watched them. And while my aunt reaized some of the dances would be sexual, she didn't expect Miley nearly naked and the foam finger. Breaking Bad is on cable tv, and any one with half a brain wouldn't let a child watch it…because they know what to anticipate. It's about knowing the audience…not everything can be judged on the same level. For example, had she done that performance at the Adult Film Awards, I would have thought it was fine.

  14. mensaa says – reply to this

VMAS are not rated family. It is not intended for family. But fine you want to play the family card- what about a show like pretty little liars where kids are encouraged to have serial stalkers/killers after them, not tell the police, and SLEEP with their teachers?

  15. 15

She's a self-serving, stinky hillbilly with an IQ of 12, and anyone who agrees with her is even dumber. There is no legitimate comparison here. She's desperate to make herself look more mainstream and less ridiculous, which really isn't possible, because she's a total asshole.
@jusssayin': No one's pissed at her, you idiot. We're all laughing at her and seeing her for the desperate, tacky, inbred jed that she is. You agree with her because your parents are brother and sister.

  16. MAESY says – reply to this

    oh no she didn't

  17. 17

THIS right here shows you how much space that VMA humiliation is still renting space in her pea brain.
Breaking Bad is for adults, retard. VMA is family oriented. Stop trying to compare shit, fucking hillbilly moron, pathetic slut.

  18. 18

Re: kornholio – lmao. yes. please

  19. 19

Dear miley, go get another foam finger and stick it up your crotch. it was so entertaining! you could probably sell lots of porn doing the same thing. go for it girl, you know you want to.

  20. really? says – reply to this

If Miley had half of a brain she would know that Breaking Bad is a show about the choices you make and how your whole life can literally crumble from your bad choices…(hint! hint!) and how it affects people all around you. Soooo… in the end, here is a show about the meth business, how everyone involved lives turned into shambles, and voila! lesson learned. What lesson is she trying to teach to her young followers? How to be a porn star? Please, girl… get real! By the way, BB is a tv show with a thing called actors.. who play characters. Miley is a ral person that the youth looks up to and talks about molly. I am sure people get more influenced by her and her "fun" life than a tv show where everyones lives are being ruined by scary people. There is no argument here.

  21. 21

This chick is a total twit. Breaking bad is not on regular cable its on a paid for specialty channel and is not for children. The VMA's are supposed to be a family show and finger F'in yourself with foam isn't exactly family content. Someone needs to slap this girl she is making a total fool of herself!!!

  22. Lil Birdie says – reply to this

America didn't vote on who got what Emmy. America had nothing to do with it. Molly Ratchet is an idiot fool. Who is she to judge normal Americans and how we think?? This uneducated drama queen wannabe doesn't think before she speaks.
She has admitted that she is messed up. MESSED UP!! MESSED UP!! Those are her own words. Get that Miley? If you are messed up and you know it…..go away somewhere and try to get better. You are the furthest thing from a normal American. Most of us grow up learning to respect others, to work well in this world and find pleasure in simple things. We don't get an opportunity to vote for who will win an Emmy ya moron. You look for anything to defend yourself. Doesn't matter if it isn't true. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU TO JUDGE US???? We can just picture your molly arriving to you each morning on a golden chanel platter and your sickening white tongue hungrily reaching for it. We don't want our kids on drugs. We want them happy and healthy and loving life on lifes terms.

  23. madmike says – reply to this

So her grasp of the english language is that of an 8th grader. It's, like ya know, not write.

  24. anon says – reply to this

Wow, see how stupid uneducated celebs are?

Breaking Bad shows the downsides to meth and isn't on main cable. You, ho, just glamorize drugs to 13 year olds in your shitty songs.

  25. MyIQishighasAkite says – reply to this

Society loved watching Michael Jackson grab his crotch in videos and onstage and loved watching Gene simmons stick his tongue out. I've said it before and I'll say it again: its about sexism. MIley is a chick. Chicks (especially young hot babes) dont have the same freedom to be sexually free as males and old women have.
Add the fact that older women in our society are intimidated by young women who "try to act sexy" and you have a country full of crybabies. If miley had been Betty white .. everybody would have had a big laugh out of it.. because she's old.

  26. 26

I actually don't think Miley is comparing her performance to Breaking Bad. If you read her quote, it is clear that she is not saying "If there is a show that shows you how to cook meth, than my performance should not be a big deal". She is just pointing out that cencoring swear words while letting her perform nearly naked or them "teach" you how to cook meth is a really messed up moral code.

  27. Caughtcha says – reply to this

    Re: Victoria

In an earlier Rolling Stone interview that is EXACTLY what she said!!

  28. HEISENBERG says – reply to this

Entertainment and meth is my industry, your's is prostitution. Stupid inbred trash, Cant compare BB too being disabled on stage in no clothes.

  29. 29

Re: MyIQishighasAkite – Exactly what you just said. Miley has a point. Also, anyone who things the VMA's is "family oriented" is high as a fucking kite. seriously.

  30. truthhurts says – reply to this

And she is proving that he does not understand the difference between reality and fiction now. Jesus christ she is just a source that keeps on giving.

  31. 31

Miley is clueless. As a person who watches Breaking Bad, her comment only suggests she's never actually watched an episode before in her life and is only listing off stuff that happened that everyone viewer and non-viewer knows about. Though, if she feels she learned how to properly make meth from "watching it", I encourage her to go for it. She'll be in for a nice explosive surprise since they intentionally leave out ingredients and show the cooking sequences out of order for the very sake of not showing the viewers how to make it. Whether people think the VMAs is a family show or not, everyone knows that MTV's demographic is mostly made of the same younger viewers she's trying to get rid of. Maybe if she didn't sing about how much fun she has using drugs, people would see it differently. That's where her image differs from what happens on Breaking Bad. If people are finding drugs more appealing after watching the show, they have a whole different set of problems unrelated to it.

  32. mel_7689 says – reply to this

wow she actually said something that makes sense, i agree with her on THIS one.

  33. Tyrone Williams says – reply to this

That she thinks she can literally cook meth by watching Breaking Bad is hilarious.

Oh wait, she was being serious?

  34. melrose says – reply to this

    Let me get this straight…

the kid caught on camera smoking pot in real life is pissed about a fictional tv show depicting cooking meth?

  35. Ash says – reply to this

i think she's right. even if it aint breaking bad, take TVD. sexism. yes. lots of it. PLL. sleeping with teachers? check. killers? check. stalkers? check. i haven't heard the VMAs to be exactly children-friendly. moreover, i think what she is saying here is that they could show them cooking meth and kill but not say 'fuck'. that word was bleeped out. as with her VMA performance. her performance went on but they bleeped out molly. idk. that's my interpretation. i dont think she 'compared' them in the sense to bolster her performance back there.

  36. Lai says – reply to this

and how does she now those are the exact step and chemicals you need to cook meth?

  37. 37

in addition to everyone elses point about the difference, well people enjoy "breaking bad" because it has good writing, talented people acting. But her performance, although many people talked about it, most only talked about how it was talentless, desperate and not a very good performance. what Miley did you can find it being done at srtrip club. its not innovation or new… like Cher said, she could've came out naked and maybe sing well or did some amazing dancing than maybe some people would have praised her performance. But at the moment even those who defend her can't specifically say what part of the performance they actually liked, most just say "oh at least she got people talking"..

  38. Arrora says – reply to this

I've watched every episode of Breaking Bad and I could not tell you how to cook meth, there is nothing in the show you couldn't easily find by doing a google search. One is a show by actors and the other is you just tramping around.

  39. @v@ says – reply to this

Pssst. Breaking bad is FICTIONAL programming. You know, like a book? Oh, nevermind.

  40. mash says – reply to this

I remember when I was 20 years old. So many bad choices I've made…

  41. jasonbres says – reply to this

This just in: Breaking Bad is NOT a former Disney Channel star who is supposed to be serving as a role model to young kids.

  42. Josh says – reply to this

She wasn't even comparing BB with the VMA performance. She was just pointing out how weird it its that censorship only applies to certain areas, for example how they can show a guy cooking meth but they bleep out the word fuck, or how they bleep molly when she's grinding on a foam finger. jeesh people learn to read.

  43. 43

Re: The Truthinator – lmao i never said the people commenting or anyone for that matter is pissed at her directly. i think that we promote violence and drugs in our society and slam sex and sexual behavior which is in fact natural. why is it that a lot of violent or gory movies are usually rated PG13 and movies that happen to show a womens chest are rated R? youre a loser and obviously do not have anything smart to say so you turn to petty digs as a way to defend your point of view. as if your internet trolling somehow makes you better or cooler. do society a favor and go back into the hole from which you have crawled your way out of.

  44. Rangga says – reply to this

Well, this girl has a bullet to shoot. Sadly, she missed the target!

  45. Rangga says – reply to this

Re: Tyrone Williams – OH MY GOD! She meant it anyway!

  46. Victoria Sampley says – reply to this

People the VMAs are for families. MTV is not a family channel. Kids shouldn't be watching the awards anyway. The whole thing has adult humor and content.

  47. 47

    she has a point..

  48. coty! says – reply to this

that's so easy to explain !!! thats just happen when u do it in a cheap way how miley did it!!! she can not compare herself with that show thats a big production and what she did was just stupid!!!!! I prefer to hear somebody saying fuck thats more realistic that a girl whos trying to loo sexy and hot when she is not ….

  49. Marlou says – reply to this

It's funny how everyone concentrates on the cooking meth thing, while I'm hearing the swearing get cut out in Breaking Bad as well. Funny, because your theories are about Breaking Bad targeting a different audience than the VMA's. If Breaking Bad target adults, why are they not allowed to keep the swearing in, it's more 'real life', isn't it?
And the VMA's don't target a 'family' audience. If they would, they'd invite more older celebrities and more 'kids' artists. Last time I checked MTV targets girls and boys at the age of 16 to 25. Students. Not entire families. I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan, but with this she has a point. America puts a ban on things that make no sense. You're allowed to grind up on the stage and kill and do drugs on TV, but swearing is forbidden?
Again, if you think she's comparising her performance with Breaking Bad you are a terrible reader. It's about the swearing 'problem' that America has, which is ridiculous if you look at what ís allowed on TV.

  50. Lola says – reply to this

As awful as the performance was she has a point. The material on tv regardless of channel or network has gone down the drain. So much sex and voilence its appalling! And then to single her out as a disgrace is a bit hypocritical. Most kids of today seem to be allowed to watch whatever they want and I think whether or not it was on fam channel these kids would have viewed the show. We seem to be at a point where entertainment has the "sex, drugs and violence sells" motto. Its a handful of shows that are family friendly…..which wasn't the case 15yrs ago. The progression of sizzyness on going. She's right!!! Don't single her out when ur not screaming about everything else on tv!!

  51. Lola says – reply to this

Re: truthhurts – so we its okay to say lady gaga walking around half naked is art and is ok to view for kids to view on family channels. and since ur comparing fiction and reality, if she had done the exact same thing in a music video instead it would have made a difference? That's just stupid.

  52. Sarah says – reply to this

Was she really comparing breaking bad to her performance? Because what I got from that was comparing the 2 and curse words and what's allowed on TV and what isn't… She isn't comparing her sexual performance to cooking meth…

  53. 53

She's absolutely right, and the VMAs are NOT for kids. Teen Choice Awards, Kids Choice Awards are for that nature. VMAs are teenagers and up. She got WAY too much criticism for her performance.

  54. J says – reply to this

this is stupid no one is getting the point that she is saying they bleep stuff on breaking bad and then show a bunch of drug shit, not that they bleep vmas

  55. FactCheck says – reply to this

Re: pdrocksmysocks – I would like to point out that the VMAs aired the same time Breaking Bad aired… I do think her performance was just trash but time of airing has NOTHING to do with it. They were on at the same time. Just because your grade 6 cousin watched it doesn't mean it's a show targeted at kids. The VMAs are known to have these kind of things happen, as many have pointed it out in previous comments so the audience does anticipate something crazy to happen, it's what people watch it for. She isn't saying the VMAs is like Breaking Bad. She's using the shows as examples that the media picks and chooses on what to bleep out or not show. Like she said it's okay to kill someone on TV and decompose their body, but saying the word f*ck is completely not okay. Let's say that Breaking Bad is aimed for adults only then what's the big deal with using the word f*ck, I mean we're all adults right? Just how her trashy would have been completely ok if the VMAs was an awards show for adults? NO! Her performance was just complete garbage whether if only adults watched or if kids watched it.

  56. dooo says – reply to this

she's reaching. it almost sounds like she has a point.

  57. 57

first off breaking bad offers something new and exciting….you Miley well we are over seeing your tongue, boobs and butt. You to date have not offered anything that anyone is interested in seeing unless it is a prepubescent boy and even they will tire of you.

  58. 58

Re: violethill – hey, she wanted to do something memorable and unfortunately for her she did. That VMA's will always be remembered as the show that presented one of the most embarrassing displays ever. Miley made a fool of herself and I choose Breaking Bad or Breaking Sad any day and Miley was just sad.

  59. PerezMindcontrol says – reply to this

You guys are all missing the point.
shes not comparing the audience of the VMAs vs Breaking bad
shes not comparing herself to the cast
shes not comparing the content of the show vs the Vmas
Shes saying that the FCC doesn't pick a lane to stay in and she's absolutely right.
Its like when they blur out a middle finger, assuming little kids aren't gonna know whats going on -___- its so pointless. Or they have shows like "Jackass" and use "Dont try this at home" as a security blanket.
The title of this article is so indirect to the point she is making.
Perez is trying to sabotage her just like Lady gaga. Or just trying to kiss ass cuz everyone hates him lol

  60. 60

Boy is she stupid! The VMAs have a particular rating and breaking bad has a particular rating. Parents are aware breaking bad is not for children. The VMAs are marketed to children I don't know anyone who lets their children watch breaking bad. Terrible argument.

  61. 61

Re: FactCheck – The rating does though doesn't it. No one tuned in expecting to see that and on top of that it wasn't good or hot. If she would have looked hot it would be a different argument.

  62. wellnow says – reply to this

People who call other people names are pathetic and childish and I imagine them talking in a mirror to themselves, I wasn't disgusted by miley, she demonstrated a perfectly natural way of having sex with a guy and she was brilliant in her acting and singing the song about a good girl gone bad, it was so believable everyone thought it was real which it wasn't, ive seen more realistic sexual portrayal in classic ballet.
What people's mouths are demonstrating is violent sex which they seem to like,
violent verbal sex or gutter mouths. By the way women also deliver babies naturally in the position as shown by Miley. It was educational and fun but unfortunately gave rise to the gutter mouths who I find more disgusting so dry up you old tarts and let young people be and remember that elvis first act got the whole country writing in and complaining about his wiggling and gyrating and they wanted to boycott the tv station.
Elvis the pelvis they called him.

  63. 63

How she can even compare the two is beyond me. Furthermore, no Miley, you could not literally cook meth just by watching the show. They have never, at any point, shown or specified everything needed or exactly how to do it. Once again, she's showing how very ignorant she actually is.

  64. hsglsjgl says – reply to this

So dumb.. Breaking Bad doesn't use real factual information about how to cook meth exactly for that reason.. If you look it up you can see that a very small amount of the chemistry explained on the show is fact so no it isn't a how-to guide to how to cook meth.. MILEY YOU STUUUUUUPID!

  65. yobee says – reply to this

If you think that the Breaking Bad glorifies meth, and are literally too fucking stupid to differentiate between the underlying morals of that show and Miley Cyrus getting "high off purp" and "molly" while promoting it in her music and making it a cool new thing for pre-teens, then you are what's wrong with this country.
