What an experience!
We cried so much last night, and for so many different reasons!
Glee began their Season 5 with Love, Love, Love — an appropriate and much-needed route following the tragic death of show star Cory Monteith.
And while we won't see his tribute episode until Episode 3, the writers were able to give a tasteful nod to our beloved Finn last night. But let's start on a happy note, so we can endure the second wave of tears with a lil' more strength, shall we?
Up top we have one of the best, most romantic proposals in TV history. Blaine (Darren Criss) set up a surprise proposal performance for Kurt (Chris Colfer) with All You Need Is Love. And while the show was something Baz Luhrmann would approve of, the actual proposal was just so beyond anything we've ever seen before. Engagement 101 in this episode!!
Okay, now on to the waterworks… in the beginning of the episode, Rachel (Lea Michele) sang Yesterday as she wandered through New York City. But she wasn't just strolling aimlessly. On the surface it might seem as if she's simply missing her friends, but longtime fans will know she's re-visiting spots she and Finn saw on their first trip to the Big Apple.
So like we said, tears of happiness and mega tears of sadness. If you've got an industrial size box of Kleenex, check 'em out (above) before we get into the rest of the performances …AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Darren Criss is a god. So we don't really know why he thought he needed any Help on his proposal, but it's always hot when a man isn't too proud to ask.
Klaine is just too cute here. Got To Get You Into My Life was a truly precious duet. Really, our words wouldn't do it justice. Just watch the epic "AWWW" for yourself.
Anyone who's ever worked a NYC diner knows you're always working A Hard Day's Night. If you've just recently had a bad one, watching Rachel and Santana (Naya Rivera) perform this classic ditty will probably be therapeutic!
Here it is! The iconic Beatles tribute!
The men of New Directions put on a classic flair for I Saw Her Standing There, while the girls paid homage to ALL the screaming fans that used to adore the fab four like there was no tomorrow!
Kitty and Artie… those names just sound like they go together! LOLz!
At first, the kitten (Becca Tobin) felt the need to hide her love for Art (Kevin McHale) away, hence this performance of You've Got To Hide Your Love Away.
But alas! Love conquered all!!
Kitty decided that Artie was worth any falling in her social standing and told him Drive My Car in front of all the New Directions. Okay, so maybe this happened BEFORE she professed her true feelings for him, but they still look super cute together, right?
Awww, good for Artie! Better not break his heart, gurl! Our eyes are watching you like that old lady in Monsters, Inc!
