Katy Perry Is A Queen Of Pop & Flower Power On Her Radiant Cover Of Billboard Magazine!

Could there be any other queen of pop?!

Okay, well Madonna will forever be the QUEEN, but Katy Perry is totes a queen-in-training!

And Billboard magazine knows that, too, because they put the gorge goddess on their latest issue in celebration of her Roaring success.

Does she not look like a total angel on the cover?!

We think Billboard picked a pretty perfect queen to put on the cover. After all, it was probably between Katy or Miley Cyrus' butt cheeks! LOLz!

Hmmm…Madonna has 156 #1 hits in all Billboard charts, has sold 300+million records and holds the record for the two top grossing tours of all time for a female artist…When Perry surpasses those records then you can call her queen..Until then, she's just a pop singer…

One of the things I hate abpout Perry's music, is that the music doesn't go with mood or lyrics. I remember reading posts on youtube for her song The One That Got Away, and they are like "wah,…. how sad" "This song is so sad, I'm crying" The song is not sad……… what the fuck are you talking about? It sounds like a fucking carnival ride. Same with her new song? The eye of the tiger would be a bit more mean than an annoying cg merry-go-round, I think….. Her songwriters need to quit. Resignation please. Her music, her career, I don't care what anyone says, it makes her so not attractive to me. If you're a girl who likes me, the worst thing you could do to get noticed is do exactly what Katy Perry has done and is doing. I think if I ever ran into Katy Perry IRL, I wouldn't say a word. No Swearing, no freaking, I would look at her, like she's a freak of nature, and say nothing to her directly, even if she spoke to me. I would talk to everyone else in the room normally. If I was leaving, I'd say "bye, see everyone later…." or whatever, normally, and basically act like Katy Perry didn't exist. I might laugh, or "Pfffft….. shaking my head" but maturely, and possibly professionally as it could very well be at my work, I would not say or act eratic or vulger. Just jerky enough to get by :)

^^^ I'd love to have the opportunity to act that way towards a few of them.

There is something about Ms. Perry who prefers to be called Miss because she's not a woman's liberation kind of lady, that just isn't jiving here. In the Billboard article she talks about how her marriage was breaking down and she was late to her interview with Barbara Walters on the same day that the was performing in Madison Square Garden. She basically insinuated she was under tremendous personal stress, yet this she was able to flip on a dime and act poised and confident in that interview. I don't know weather to respect that she did this or not. You would never know she was in the middle of hell. She's good alright. What an actress. I don't think Joni Mitchell would be capable of acting that "prim and proper" under the circumstances. I think she was and is too raw and honest about herself. If you've seen Joni's most recent interview with Gian Chomeshi she is far from the prim and proper persona Ms. Perry interviews as. I like Katy, but she has some growing up and in to do. As Joni so well said in her lyrics to "A Free Man in Paris", "…stoking the star maker machinery behind the popular song." Promote, promote, promote.

I could much easier seeing KP becoming the next Madonna, than the next Joni Mitchell. Pass the baton, baby. Madonna is financially loaded. Joni isn't doing too bad herself…While I admire them both, for very different reasons, I just prefer Joni Mitchell as a true artist over "Madonna" any day. Tell me which of the two was more commercialized, Joni or Madonna? Joni never changed her dress and public persona on the grandiose scale the both Katy and Madonna have. There is "spinning" and working people's minds for the almighty dollar and there is true artistry.

if Katy keeps this up, she will be the next Madonna. she is maintaining a sustained connection/relevance to the mainstream - something no other artist is doing. gaga/miley are burning bridges too quick.

Re: don – I have to agree with you, John, er, I mean Don. I remember seeing a picture of Katy on vacation at a resort Mexico with her parents and Travis McCoy. She was reading a book. It was the bio of…drum roll, please…Madonna. I think she has been wanting to be the next Madonna for a loooooong time.

Where is this coming from comparing her to Joni Mitchell?? I saw it on another comment section too. Did she mention this in the interview?
