Ed Sheeran Thinks Miley Cyrus' Twerking Is "A Stripper's Move!"

| Filed under: Music MinuteMiley CyrusEd SheeranDance

The great national debate continues: to twerk or not to twerk? That is the question.

Our favorite red head, Ed Sheeran, weighed in on the booty shakin' dance move that's sweeping the country (or at least the VMA stage).

Miley Cyrus, try to keep your tongue inside your mouth, because we've got some news that might wrecking ball your day…

The ginger singer doesn't like twerking. In a recent interview, he 'fessed up to the fact that he thinks it resembles a different sort of dance move:

"I think encouraging young people to twerk might be a bad thing. It’s a stripper’s move. If I had a daughter of nine, I wouldn’t want her twerking."

We guess this also confirms Ed has some intimate knowledge of strippers' dance moves, too! JK…but maybe not!

As for Mileybird, Ed made it clear that he think she needs a little rebranding (and not the branding of "Rolling $tone" on her feet):

"I just think she’s packaged the wrong way. When I first heard Wrecking Ball, I thought it was a brilliant song, but the video distracts too much from it."

Hmm we guess licking sledgehammers, riding huge balls naked, and dance-humping is not everyone's cup o' tea!

Ed is exactly right. The songs are perfectly fine on their own, she does not need to try and sell records by degrading herself the way she has been.

My opinion? Depends on the age group … otherwise, it would be seen as being a prude who dislikes sexual people or anything sexual. I guess it makes sense to dislike the idea when it comes to "young people" since that is the age demo who is into her music. Me, at my age, I suppose it would be a bit ludicrous to be "twerking out" to Miley Cyrus. I like to think I'm ageless, but I certainly don't get too carried away with it, Perez dear.

Parents will say "oh my god. She twerked. This is a bad influence on kids".. and then send their precious daughters off to learn ballet…..an artform where females climb all over their male dance partners in suggestive movements. Parents attend their daughter's dance recitals with their fancy cameras in hand and excited applause. But then 10 years later… their daughter is in the big leagues. A pro dancer… straddling the penile outline of some hunky male dancer in tighties. My, they grow up so fast.

Ed Sheeran should do us all a favor and hit Slimey on her head! Poor guy has to use his talented voice and guitar to sell a record but flat ass Justin Cyrus just goes on stage and bends over.

Re: April9999 – Now I understand why the middle eastern men cover their women. Humans just cant handle raw sex appeal. They just can't do it. I dont know if its jealousy or what? Western society just cant handle a strong young woman being sexually liberated and at ease with her body. Yes. Now i understand why the arabs covered their women from head to toe. Its to shut up the crybabies before they start their "waaaaaa. She is acting too sexy. Waaaaaaaaaa" bickering.

He is right on. Miley seems to know she made a major mistake but just keeps on keepin' on. Do you think she has jumped the shark YET?

miley made no mistake…. where the FUCK have you people been? she's all over the place…. #1 single, about to have the biggest album debut of her career, and she doesn't give a fuck about whether or not someone's precious little children CHOOOSE to go out twerking, nor should she! Ed doesn't know his ass from his elbow…If you really don't want your own young child behaving like miley, do not let them have access to all of miley's material. It's that simple. and if you have a teen that will obviously have to use the computer, then let them look at what they want. It's their time to develop and choose the person they want to become, and if that's a twerker, then that's their choice and if it makes them happy then it's no one else's concern. Enough with blaming Miley for all your kids future problems.
