cory monteith final coroners report in

The official, final coroner's report is in.

Cory Monteith passed at the age of 31 from a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol as he was shooting the drug and drinking champagne in his hotel room the night of July 12.

His body wasn't discovered until July 13, shortly after noon, where responders also found "two empty champagne bottles and glasses, a spoon with drug residue and a used hypodermic needle."

The technical terminology for his cause of death? It was a "mixed drug toxicity, involving intravenous heroin use combined with the ingestion of alcohol."

Given the time periods in between Cory's substance abuse, it has been suggested that his tolerance was lower the night of his death, which caused his body to react much differently than he was used to.

His friends, fans, and family continue to mourn him. Glee will air his tribute episode on October 10th, with an emotional performance anticipated from girlfriend Lea Michele.

You know what I never got ? Why didn't he leave when he felt the urge to do it? He should not have even went to tat hotel. I have a feeling he was depressed that night. It was his choice and made a horrible one. However. why did his friends just leave him alone. He just got out of rehab.

If it made sense it wouldn't be addiction. I have been there, and I've back again. It's very sad for someone so talented and young. He has nothing but my compassion.

I don't get why he used both the alcohol and heroin? not that he should have used either but figured he would have known combining alcohol and heroin is a very bad idea

Re: Zaina – thats a ridiculous. Its a fuckn heroin addiction, you can't just say no to that craving as easily as you would say no to food or alcohol. When you are an ADDICT saying no is almost impossible lil girl. You have a lot of growing up to do.

Re: HipChick – What the fuck? Can you not be fucking rude. If he didn't go to Vancouver and get it he wouldn't be dead now. He clearly wanted it so he did. Cory was a big boy. It;s not like he didn't know what could have happened to him if he did it. Heroin isn't like a fucking apple you get from walmart there are certain steps to getting it and taking it. He chose to get it and he took it. He made a poor choice. However, he didn't have heroin and alchohol to begin with in his hotel room. He made that stupid decsion to go and buy it of the douche who sold it to him. Don't be all snarky and rude…" you little girl". I am an adult by the way.

Re: HipChick – he HAD a choice .. the first time he took heroin … he should have JUST SAID NO … and if he had never used before that first time.. it was really that simple
