History was made on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night!

For the first time EVER on U.S. television, Lorde opened her mouth and showed America that she is the next big thing in music!

OMG! It's like The Beatles premiering on the Ed Sullivan Show! Only without all the screaming girls…

The Kiwi songstress performed her hit song Royals, of course. So sultry! Her voice is like velvet!

Lorde stuck around longer and sung White Teeth Teens too, also off her debut album Pure Heroine, which was released this week!

Smart move on Fallon's part! This girl deserves extra time on the stage!

She is just flat out AH-Mazing!!!

Ch-ch-check out Lorde's first-ever American TV performance …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

    Like the Beatles ?
No major crime was reported in New York City between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Feb. 9, 1964.
It was History in the making.
    Lorde… not.

Great to see there are still popstars who can sing live and actually live up to recorded song. She has a great voice.

  3. 3

She's only 16? She has an incredible voice for someone so young and, even better, she's a songwriter in her own right. Bravo, she's a great new talent!

I couldn't watch her awkward performance (What was up with her hands) but she sounded great.

Perez, considering you weren't even alive when the Beatles were together, you have no comprehension of the difference between true talent and all these minor league "pop" stars of today. There isn't a group out now with even a sliver the musical and society changing talent the Fab Four had, so please stop besmirching them by comparing these wanna-bes with the Beatles.

She looks dumb. Good song and voice but she's been dissing a lot of musicians. She won't last long.

she's 16? she looks like a 35 year old crack addict.
nice voice though, but her he "awkwardness" looks too forced to get people to talk about her

  9. 9

I wish she had staying power. Unfortunately all the 12 year olds dictate the billboard results. What a shame.

Re: Amy – I hear ya. She needed autotune and 12 backup dancers with commercial choreography to hide lack of talent…ppffttt

wat the hell was wrong with her facial expressions and the way she moved? she has a beautiful voice but she doesn't have to move like a zombie

  12. 12

She has a lovely voice but to compare her to the Beatles? NO WAY. I watched the Ed Sullivan show when they first appeared, they were musical geniuses.

She's a spiteful little bitch who is already ruining her career by slamming other artists.

Woah there, 'Demi's Fat Ass', calm down. If you took the time to actually listen to the interviews rather than just believing everything you read, you'd find that she has done nothing of the sort. In regards to the supposed feud with Selena Gomez, she did not 'slam' her personally, she stated that the music industry is full of sexism and she used one of her songs as an example (which Selena Gomez didn't even write) and she's actually right, there is a lot of sexism in the music industry.

As for Taylor Swift, who I happen to like also, she didn't even insult her. All she said was that the industry creates these ideals of the perfect person, which really is unattainable for most.

Re: MichJB – Oh thank you for your comment. Nothing to add! Kudos

The fact that she actually sounds almost exactly like the studio version shocked me. That's painfully rare anymore. I'm impressed, the girl's got real talent.

Well that was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. She looks so old too, I know she's almost 17 but she looks really aged.
