Novelist Tom Clancy has died at the age of 66.

The legendary author of The Hunt For Red October, Patriot Games, and Rainbow Six passed away in a Baltimore hospital Tuesday night, according to his publisher. So sad.

Tom Clancy was the undisputed king of the military thriller, but his legacy doesn't end with books.

His main character, CIA analyst Jack Ryan, has been played on the big screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and soon Chris Pine.

Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and more - some of the top-selling video games of all time - have been inspired by his work; many even bear his name.

He will be remembered for generations to come.

It was said that one of the reasons Tom Clancy's books did so well is the massive amount of research he did beforehand. If,say, military was involved, the research into everything about and around it would be thorough, which lent to authenticity from the pages. RIP.

RIP and condolences to his family.
I have enjoyed many happy hours with his books and also enjoyed his movies, the first 3 were great, especially Patriot Games with Harrison Ford.
He seems so young to me, only one year older than I am.
I hope he had an easy time passing.
