Perez Reviews: Big Fish on Broadway!

| Filed under: Broadway BabiesPerez Reviews

Not since we saw Once have we been so blown away by a new musical on Broadway as we were when we saw Big Fish on Sunday night.

We never saw the movie or read the book, so we went into the show with low expectations. And we were blown away!

While not an obvious choice for a Broadway musical, Big Fish translates beautifully to the stage!

Susan Stroman does an EPIC job of directing the show and also spending every single penny the producers put into the production! This is not just a Big show, but it's also a BIG show!

So much razzle dazzle!!!!

But, what struck us the most were the stunning songs by Andrew Lippa! They were inspired and inspiring! INSTANTLY MEMORABLE! Moving! Varied! From big to intimate - and not a single bad song in the show!

The cast has some of the finest talents working on the stage right now - Norbert Leo Butz, Kate Baldwin and our future boyfriend, Bobby Steggert. And the entire production team deserves a tremendous round of applause!

There was so much inventiveness on that stage! From the set design to the costumes and everything in between!

Our senses were dazzled in the first act and our heartstrings were razzled in the second act! We cried so much! We were so moved!

This. Show. WINS!

Must. Must. See!!!!!

wait…so u never saw the movie…and never saw the book….anfd still walked in with low expecations? that's literally makes no sense. wut you should say is u walked in with NO expectations…but to walk in with LOW ones is just so typically perez hilton. Especially given the fact that Big Fish had incredible ratings and was so perfectly made for a musical format….anyways. which is also why its stupid to say its not obvious for a musical format when u admit to never EVER having seein the source material….how is it not obvious then? god u fucking suck.

Re: sants – Not only that he doesn't quantify his bombastic statements nor does the sophomoric statements like "our future boyfriend," so much razzle, dazzle " help much.
If he's going to call it "Perez reviews" he better take a writing course and up his game.

You are a talentless ass. If you didn't have your head up your own ass 24/7, you'd understand what a huge joke you've turned into. Do us all a favor and stay home with your fat, ugly kid instead of attending plays you don't understand and writing reviews that are absolutely pathetic.

Re: kornholio – AIDS would be more fun to watch him endure. Or ebola. That would be hysterical. Maybe a combination of the two?

Wow and I thought Congress was full of hate! What is it with all of the hateful comments? He's actually spot on with his review…so why notl put your money where your mouth is and go see the show for yourself?

I was in my first few shows with Bobby back in the day…I LOVE him and LOVE Perez — glad he has made it on your radar. He's such a nice person.
