Fifty Shades Of Grey's Charlie Hunnam Might've Taken The Role At First, But He Never Wanted It?!

| Filed under: Film Flickers50 Shades Of Grey

charlie hunnam never wanted 50 shades of grey role

Well that explains a lot!

Okay, so it doesn't really explain why Charlie Hunnam said yes to the role in the first place, but it does explain why he so quickly dropped out of Fifty Shades of Grey.

We had heard he was a little worried about becoming a Showgirls kind of joke if he really got his freak on as Christian Grey, but considering he kept saying how totes cool he was with baring his bondage side we were a little confused.

Now, we think the pieces might be falling into place. Apparently, Charlie was never truly interested in tying anyone up and getting his spank on as an insider revealed:

"Charlie Hunnam was never going to do Fifty Shades of Grey. He told his agents from the beginning he didn't want to do it and was going to pull out."

Say what?!

Then why tease us with the possibility of seeing his sexalicious bod on screen doing all sorts of freaky deaky things??

Some are still claiming his backing out was a scheduling issue as other sources have added:

"The role of Christian Grey requires a massive time commitment, a trilogy role in which Charlie and his team were originally very aware of from the start and a major consideration in his hesitancy for taking the role. Charlie is the lead in a massive TV series and his loyalty will always be to Sons of Anarchy, the SOA family and fans."

We guess we'll just have to hope for more shirtlessness on Sons of Anarchy.

And perhaps some handcuff scenes as well? Or ball gags? Maybe??

He would have been AWESOME! Had no interest in the book until I heard he was going to be in the movie. He would have made the name Christian Grey live on forever, so sad will not get to see him in all his sexiness.

I don't see why people are still trying to milk this story. Leave him alone already, move on. It's over, no more of this.

Now his interview comments make sense. Everybody telling him he should do it. It never really sounded like he's convinced.

I think it's a very scary role. I said it before and I'll say it again…he could have walked away the worlds sexiest man. It will take a great actor to do this part and not make it look trashy.

When Kim Bassinger refused to do the girl in the box, after agreeing to it, she got sued big time for lots of money and I think she lost. Wonder if Charlie already signed an agreement stating he would do it and what are the consequences for getting out of it.

Why even bother auditioning if you aren't interested. Why agree if you aren't interested…

Just get rid of Dakota please! She needs to be replaced and Ana recast. The fans do not want her. This film will a remain a disaster with her in it as Ana.

I don't see the need to go on about it, if he didn't, he didn't, but I don't understand why he let it be announced that he was going to play the part. I saw what people was saying online, and in magazines and such about how wrong for the role he was, I think that might have been the real reason with him not playing the part. Can't blame him though, cause it would have been another twilight situation, people liking the sick books and hating the movies cause they was complete bogus.

He's a good looking man but he was probably smart to pull out. I think the movie will do pretty well the first two weeks due to fans, and then tank.
