Miley Cyrus & Rihanna's Raunchiness Called Out By Charlotte Church: They're Being Demeaned!

miley cyrus rihanna sexuality called out by charlotte church

Here we go again, Perezcious readers!

Miley Cyrus has been stirring up all sorts of controversy, and the craziness is hardly about to stop. But at least this time she isn't alone because Charlotte Church is calling out Mileybird, Rihanna and many other young ladiez who she feels have become victims of the music industry!

After going through her own experiences in the industry, Charlotte is finding it hard to see how today's musicians are being portrayed in such an overtly sexual manner. She admitted:

"What this industry seems to want of its women increasingly is sex objects that appear childlike. Take your clothes off, show you're an adult … There was a big clamor to cover my breasts as they wanted to keep me as young as possible. Then it became, 'You should definitely get them out, they look great' … Whilst I can't defer all the blame away from myself, I was barely out of my teenage years, and the consequence of this portrayal of me is that now I am frequently abused on social media. Now I find it difficult to promote my music where it would be best suited."

And while Charlotte pointed at Mileybird's twerking escapades as a negative reinforcement of gender stereotypes, she also noted how damaging this decision to sell sex can be for the woman. While talking about RiRi's Pour It Up, she said:

"You only have to look at the online response to see that it is only a matter of time until the public turns on an artist for pushing it too far. But the single, like all [of] Rihanna's other provocative hits, will make her male writers, producers and record label guys a ton of money."

She might not have said Mileybird is being pimped out, but she is most def striking hard!

We're not sure the foam finger fun times fan will respond since that hasn't really been her thing lately, but if she does we're pretty sure she'll be claiming she's the one who owns her sexuality.

As for RiRi, we're not sure this will get her to stop taking half-nekkid selfies.

Good. It's nice to see another singer tell the truth about the industry and say that this misogynistic shit is not ok.

First off, Charlotte is right and again, she's someone speaking from experience. If people out there truly believe that Miley and Rihanna are not controlled by music exec's, you're delusional. This is all the work of music exec's and girls are going along with it, because that's what it takes to be successful in the U.S.A., but at least they shouldn't claim they're in control of their image, because they're not!

What the hell is she talking about?! Rihanna and Miley aren't selling themselves, they're creating art and I believe others should look to them as an example.

So what if they're being pimped? They're living like pimps are they not? It's a win-win situation! As a woman, if I had their bodies, I'd be doing the same thing. But then again, they don't work full-time at Hardees like I do *sigh*

Re: Golden Dildo – Neither Rihanna or Miley are good examples. Smoking weed, getting shit faced and basically dressing like a whore isn't art. If it was, they wouldn't need to dress so scantily to get people to buy their records.

Let's face it: Nothing anyone says to Miley or Rihanna will matter. They are young and don't give a shit what people think of them.

*yawn* yet another person trying to get their 15 minutes of fame by nagging about Miley and Rihanna's style. Let it go… This isn't the publicity you want.

A woman does what a man says and look, she's successful. BIG surprise there.

Didn't Ms. Church had a baby at 15 years old?

I hope my kid turns out like this so I can retire early :)

Well, the difference is that Charlotte Church actually can sing and didn't need to strip to get attention.

Re: Golden Dildo – Are you nuts? They are not good examples for anyone.

First of all I agree with Charlotte, Its the men or women music exec's making all the money. I dont understand, why these young stars feel the need to pimp themseleves out. If they have the talent surely that should be enough. I dont think they should be dressing like nuns or anything, but have a little self respect. Lets be honset if your son came home with a girl dressed and acted like they do (without the money) you would probably tell them to rid of them. I also blamed her parents, where are they, should they not be guiding her or are they also interested in the money they make.

This feminism crap needs to stop. It's funny they are generally always wrong. Men do not expect sex, men do not see women as objects, when we look at miley cyrus, we instantly think of her as being an embarrassment. Not a sexual object.
