lou reed velvet underground passes away

Another great one has passed.

Sad news to report today as Lou Reed has passed away at 71 years old.

The rock legend is most famously known at the founder and lead singer of the Velvet Underground.

While details of his death were initially unknown, we are now hearing that the passing was liver-related. He did undergo a liver transplant in May and suffered complications that put him back in the hospital in June.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.

This is a musician. Not Beibers, Directions, or Mileys - they are lucky that the bar is so low in the music industry now. Lou brought us hits when the greatest musicians ruled the airwaves. Sorry to see you go - Rest in Peace.

And may i say, I loved his work with metallica. The metallica fans got shitty and disrespected his absolute genius. Do you know how few 70 year olds can hear the genius in heavy metal music? Very few 70 year olds are hip. He seemed to have been able to hear it and wanted to contribute his genius to the metallica genius and it worked for me. I thought he was born to do metal. Maybe in the next life. RIP.

RIP and condolences to his friends and family.
My late husband died of liver failure, and it is tough. Many times like with my aunt, she is what the nurses called a frequent flyer (EG in and out of the hospital) but with my husband it was all at once.
He was a great singer and very talented!

Started listening to The Ramones when I was 12. Learned about The Velvets and Lou after that. Lou you are my hero, and Im not ready to let you go yet. Thank you for your music and inspiration and most of all, your brutal honesty. xx
