Talk about racking up frequent flyer miles!

Katy Perry went halfway around the world this week, jetting from New York, to Colorado, to LA and now she's touched down in Australia!

She spent yesterday morning waking up Sydney Harbor with some AH-Mazing live performances right outside of the city's famed Opera House!

What a sight to see!

Even though she had just gone on a helmet-free bike ride, KatyKat wanted to keep her heart rate up so she whipped out a jump rope and skipped around stage like a hopping kangaroo!

Oh yeah, did we mention she did that in high heels?!

ZOMG! We can barely jump rope wearing sneakers!

After her quick cardio sesh, Katy got right back to singing too! No vocal track for this girl! That's ALL Katy coming out of those speakers!

We've got SO MUCH Katy Perry for you to watch! Ch-ch-check out her performances of Roarand Unconditionallyoutside in beautiful Sydney … AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Re: cookoo4no1 – wha'ts more sad is that it took 4 writers:
Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin and Henry Walter to come up with this chorus:

    "Unconditional, unconditionally
    I will love you unconditionally"

    lame

Wow, Katy sang great doing her new song "Unconditionally" in Australia. This song is starting to grow on me. I think this song could be another Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit for Katy. Katy's songwriting collaborator Bonnie McKee was right that this album is different from the Teenage Dream album but it's still pretty good. Once you've listened to ALL the songs Katy's first two albums and liked most of them it's kind of hard not to like these new songs. It's still Katy … the reigning queen of the music world in my opinion. If her song "Unconditionally" is mostly about John Mayer I'm sure he knows by now that Katy is crazy about him. He better treat her right and be a good boyfriend. It sounds like she wants that more than all the fame, money, and admiration from music fans and critics, etc. She's a hopeless romantic … a queen of hearts. She might be a little too emotional and dramatic for him but that's just Katy being Katy. He's gotta accept her the way she is … like she says in this song.

Re: someguy2621 – How can the song be about john Mayer when there are 4 writers credited to the song? Is John Mayer a bisexual polygamist?

Re: jnp – Katy focuses mainly on writing the lyrics and doing the vocals for the song in her own unique way. That is VERY important for making a song "work" like they say in Hollywood. No Katy doesn't play all the instruments on all of her songs. Last musician I know of that can do that is "Prince". Bono from U2 shares the songwriting credits with ALL the members of the band and some of the producers on every one of their songs. Do you think less of Bono because he focuses mainly on the lyrics and vocals like Katy does? I hear Katy comes up with some of the keyboard and guitar parts in her songs. I think she did plenty of it on her first album. I'd like to see more pictures of Katy at home or in a studio toiling away on her keyboards and guitar than see her in all of these glamorous photo shoots. She's a serious musician who worked hard to get where she is. People should see more of that side of Katy.

Re: someguy2621 – You lost me when you tried to compare Bono who is part of a band to Katy Perry who is a manufactured pop artist. Sure some of her songs are catchy but to imply that there is any substance to any of her songs is foolish.

Re: jnp – Do you have a clue how many singles and albums Katy sold for her "Teenage Dream" album? It's about as multi-platinum as it gets. Katy's gotta be doing SOMETHING right, don't you think? Katy's producers know that she is absolutely indispensible to making those hit songs work … writing them as well as performing them. I think you just like particular music genres and particular artists more than others. I happen to be one of those music fans likes several genres of music … even classical like Baroque period Mozart, Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. I like U2 and plenty of other rock bands … from Nirvana to the Beatles, Zep, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, the Stones, etc. I like several pop bands from the 80s, 90s and 00s like Berlin, Missing Persons, Go Gos, Madonna, Pretenders, Duran Duran, Garbage, No Doubt, etc. I couldn't care less what people think of what music I might like. If a few songs by a musician or group resonate with me somehow then I listen to the whole album. Katy's music surprised me. It's better than I thought it would be when I first started listening to her albums. I even saw a video clip of rock and roll guitar god "Slash" from "Guns and Roses" on YouTube admitting that Katy Perry was one of his "guilty pleasures". He likes some of her music too. At least he wasn't embarrassed to say it in public like I'm sure a lot of guys are.

Re: someguy2621 – Katy Perry is no secret ingredient, she got lucky. Any girl on the street with borderline musical ability could have been Katy Perry. She just fit the mold that the label was looking for. Don't get me wrong, her singles are sometimes enjoyable and they sell well. They don't sell well because the music has any substance to it. They sell because she has a giant media machine behind her that can promote her around the world. When you start comparing her to artists who actually create their music and don't rely on manufactured pop songs or armies of professional writers and armies of label backed marketers then I have a problem. There's nothing wrong with drinking Katy's kool-aid but don't let it cloud your judgment

Re: someguy2621 – Also, sales don't mean anything. That's like saying McDonalds hamburgers are the best one earth because they've sold 99 Billion of them. When in reality you can get a more decent burger at a local restaurant made with local beef and hand crafted for you. :)

Katy Perry is in for a rude awakening with John Mayer. He's a sex addict just like Russell was. He's cheated on her countless times already and shows NO signs of stopping. The man has a problem. He needs unconditional love or someone who will keep their eyes shut. But I bet she has some suspicion already, and if she has a brain in her head, she will run!

I like her and her songs.
I would love to go to Australia, but with my bad back I would only be able to it in first class on one of those lay flat beds. It is 18 hours from LA.

Unconditionally??? is that a song…I hardly cannot appreciate it..I did not like her voice. She seemed to just an ordinary singer for me not as big as Pink, Beyonce, Rihanna or even Miley…She used to show off her big boobs and wearing ugly sexy outfit to get attention. She is so boring…I did not enjoy her performance at all….changed the channel…

NO one should be surprised about the coverage of Perry or the other 5.

Music and the music business, has been reduced to 5 auto tuned sound alikes. These 5 get more media attention than all the other musicians in the world, combined. Corporate music has marginalize the rest into footnotes. It has been decreed by the suits that you will not have any real career in music unless you are Beyonce, Beiber, Gaga, Perry, or Swift. (and maybe runnerups 1D, JT, and Miley).

Then too there is the guy from Dallas, Hunkasaurus and His Pet Dog Guitar, leading the revolution against the suits and for the marginalized - but he's been banned by everyone in the music business for being too fun.
