And you thought a $30 monthly smartphone subscription was outrageous!!! Turns out it's way cheaper than a bullet proof vest!!
A gas station clerk in Winter Garden, FL — that's about 20 miles west of Epcot Center for those of you keeping score — is lucky to be alive today after a gunman robbed the counter he was working behind and shot him point blank in the chest.
Normally a bullet to the chest could have you meeting your maker, but this guy was saved by something way cooler than divine intervention — five ounces of Taiwanese ingenuity!!!
The bullet was actually stopped in its tracks the clerk's HTC smartphone! It proved so effective that the man never realized he'd been shot until paramedics examined him!
"So [the EMT] started looking at the clerk. That's when they realized that the guy had actually shot at him, hit him, struck his cell phone, and the cell phone had stopped his bullet. I've seen individuals get shot with low-caliber handguns and I've seen it be life ending. So, for this gentleman to be as lucky as he is, it's a good day for us."
AMAZEBALLZ! This sounds like the origin story for an up-and-coming superhero!!! The unidentified Hess clerk could tape 20 of those suckers to his body and help rid
Gotham City Orlando of its seedy underbelly!!
At the very least, this guy should replace Catherine Zeta Jones as the new T-Mobile girl!!
In all seriousness, we're thankful this dude is alive and kicking!
Hopefully the assailant is swiftly brought to justice!
