Emma Thompson's Legacy Gets Cemented With A Hand And Footprint Ceremony At The Chinese Theater!

You know you've made it as actor if you're dipping your extremities into cement!

Over 2,000 stars are honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but only a select 200 or so have had their hands, names, and feet imprinted into the Chinese Theater's forecourt!

Emma Thompson received her very own concrete square in a ceremony in front of the cast of Saving Mr. Banks last night, and we could not be more proud!

While we're not sure if the slab will rest permanently in the courtyard for tourists to step on for all eternity, the honor itself is enormous!

Likewise, Emma was overcome with emotions in a brief speech before getting down on her hands and knees:

"When I was 14 I came to Hollywood with my dad who was directing the Norman Conquests and he brought us here, to the Grauman's and showed us all the people's hands and feet and the signatures and it was so other-worldly that for me to be here now feels not at all real! I might actually have to sit in that cement, come on let's get on with it, I can't stand it a moment longer!"

Tom Hanks, who was in attendance, could only gush about Emma and had some choice words to Mother England:

"We wish to convey the following message to Emma - Please Emma, leave England, come here, live with us, live amongst us! Los Angeles and Hollywood needs your Sense and Sensibility. England, they don't appreciate you like we do."

Too true, Tom! Someone call Nicolas Cage, because we definitely want to steal this English national treasure!

I've always liked her a lot as an actress, both in Shakespeare remakes with her former husband Kenneth Branagh, and also the Jane Austin movie she directed and I think won an Oscar for - maybe Emma?
