Marvel's plan is genius: introduce new characters to the audience in big action movies, combine them all for one super duper Avengers adventure, then use the success of that billion dollar franchise to fuel all the sequels!
And you know what? That shiz is a-working!
Thor: The Dark World has already been doing gangbusters overseas, earning over $150 million dollars in other markets, but on Thursday night's preview screenings alone it took in a domestic haul of $7.1 million!
That gives Chris Hemsworth's hammer a good head start in the hurtling towards the biggest November box office of all time!
The current record holder is Skyfall with $88 million. But Thor could smash that with a hammer; the sequel has been projected as high as $90 mil!
Wow! Talk about November Rain! All we have to say is, godspeed!
