The hills are alive with…positivity and encouragement!

After being awarded the iconic role of Maria in NBC's live version of The Sound Of Music, Carrie Underwood was probably thrilled to take on the 3 hour stage challenge!

But she should be even more ecstatic the originator of the movie role, Julie Andrews, is backing the country singer's upcoming performance with endless support!

In a new interview, Miz Andrews gave the December 5 television event the ultimate stamp of approval:

"Fifty years later, it's time somebody had another crack at it. I had the best time of my life doing it, and it did wonderful things for me. I think it's great that it's being done again, but doing it live must be so daunting for Carrie. It's a lovely piece, and I do hope it works…because she's lovely and I'm a fan. I wish her well."

The Blown Away singer will be joined on stage by Stephen Moyer as Captain Von Trapp and Tony winners to boot!

We cannot wait for this spectacular to hit our boob tube just in time for the holidays!

Hey Perez, you are not really clear on if this is a stage performance, a movie, or a TV special - would appreciate further advice, thanks.
