THIS is truly wonderful. The fact this young teen has done something extordinary for cancer research and the fact that lgbt issues we have are starting to become not such "issues" anymore. I am !00 percent for those rights and I am a bisexual female. However, i can say how I am a lil bit annoyed that now "gay" teen has to be added onto the description here. Why cant it just say "Teen honored by the vatican……" if we truly want to celebrate how gays and lesbians are just a equal as straights…then I dont see how people should be pointing out that someone is gay or lesbian when they are addressed. it shouldnt matter that this wonderful young teen who did such an accomplishment is GAY. we are all equal!!!!

What you said about the "labeling" of someone by adding their sexual preference before describing who they are is one of the most intelligent things said on this blog since I've joined.
As for the teenager getting into trouble to discover a simple test (for personal reasons, I might add) it's all good and fluffy but it already has been turned into a Vatican's games of political correctness and pharmaceutical companies into a business opportunity. Cost effective? Right. We will see how much people will be charged for this life saving test just so a handful of people can line up their pockets, including the teenage boy. A dipstick needs 5 to 10 years to be created? Please!!!!! It's not like patients need to ingest the bloody thing. Meanwhile, you all people with silent killers consuming your bodies - EAT YOUR SHORTS! There is money to be made of your misery and those companies are not going to pass the opportunity to do so.
