MJ was an extremely disturbed individual, but Beiber is delusional if he thinks he has even a tenth of the talent that MJ had. Compare yourself to Leif Garrett - you are more like him than MJ and your timeline will probably be similar.

  2. 2

Bieber should live so long that he's anything close to Michael Jackson.

I think he might have been drinking at the time and meant to say he's following Vanilla Ice and his timeline. That is a more accurate comparison little douche bag.

Michael jackson is not God so that he is beyond compare in any way. JB acknowledges M.J. was the greatest pop performer and desires to be successful as M.J. was. He is not saying that at this stage he is as good or great. But compare over 40 years of performing on the part of M.J. and 5 years of J.B. The Potential is there.

the only disturbed individuals was those Mother F*** that wouldn't leave him alone. why don't you see that MJ was BULLIED FOR OVER 25YRS. How the hell would you deal with the shit MJ had to put up with?

I don't know why the motherfuckers at the t op of the comments are bitching about! He did not say he was like M.J or was bigger than M.J he was just merely implying that he's in no hurry and that his breakthrough may come at a older age not now!! You all look stupid at this point. Except for ivan!! The rest of yall motherfuckers is Dumb. Just jumping on a gravy boat to hate on everyone who mentions M.J's name!

What Justin Bieber forgets (others do, too) is that Michael did four other solo albums before Off the Wall, whilst still recording other albums as part of the J5 and The Jacksons. He'd made a feature film (The Wiz), before Off the Wall; he was part of a television variety show and had a family cartoon show. He had been touring, both nationally and internationally, on concert tours, for at least ten years by the time he was 19. I really wish people interviewing him, or writing these articles, had enough background knowledge to pull the Biebs up on this bullshit.

  13. 13

Sadly, we will not have another MJ for a long time if ever.
I truly did not realize how prolific a song writer he was until the day he died. I was driving home from work and my favorite radio station was playing nothing Michael Jackson songs all afternoon as a partial tribute.

  14. 14

He's about as talented as one of MJ's farts.

  15. 15

Yaaaaaawn. Yeah yeah, OK, whatever. What else ya got Perez?

This quote was taken from Justin Bieber & Scooter Braun's interview from The Hollywood Reporter. Justin Bieber has a long way to go to achieve the same success as an adult performer that Michael Jackson had, but has already surpassed MJ's success as a young performer with his time in the Jackson 5. I think people are forgetting Michael Jackson was a child superstar who grew up into an adult superstar. Justin Bieber is growing up as well and has to make that same transition as MJ did. It is true that MJ did not achieve his major success until later as an adult while JB has been a superstar since he was 15.

  17. ok_then says – reply to this

Re: perez posse superfan 777 – Actually Justin Bieber has achieved more than artist since Michael Jackson, you only have to look at the records JB has smashed and the achievements he has already to see that it is a fact not speculation. Justin Timberlake had the same situation as Justin Bieber is in now that JT had to transition form bubblegum music with a boy band ; NSync and ditch the teen fans in order to gain adult fans with music targeted to adults. Like it or not JB is getting some of the best music critic reviews of his career with his new R&B sound.

  18. ok_then says – reply to this

Re: Michele Dickson – The point is and you can't argue with this fact either. MJ was not the world wide superstar until later on in his life. Justin Bieber however has the #1 top grossing music documentary of all time, as well as the #1 top selling single of all time with "Baby". Justin has a long time to catch up to Michael Jackson and that is true. The achievements that Justin Bieber has achieved at only 19 is unprecedented and is indeed fact.

  19. thelma diggs says – reply to this

Katy Perry tied Michael's 5#one hits on one album after 23yrs, and she knows that she is not the next Michael Jackson. Now what have JB done that can compare to Michael's ACCOMPOLISHMENTS, NOTHING. JB don't compare to J Timberlake, USHER just to name a couple. It's good to have BIG DREAMS, but you have to wake up sometime.

Does Justin Bieber use AUTO TUNE?

  21. leon says – reply to this

Re: thelma diggs – number one best selling single? i dont think so where are you getting your information from??. and as for the biggest selling music documentary you are also wrong, MICHAEL JACKSONS THIS IS IT IS THE BIGGEST SELLING MUSIC DOCUMENTARY OF ALL TIME. please stop with your bullshit

  22. Louise says – reply to this

    Re: ok_then
There is just no comparison to MJ okthen - to do this is just going to make people hate him more. MJ was in the Jackson 5 and people had not seen his Solo talent, whilst Bieber hasn't got many cards left to show the world and has tapped out his tween markets as a solo artist. His sales are falling, the adult audience is not embracing him whilst for MJ he hit every age demographic even from a young age, and had not peaked in terms of the artistry as a solo artist he could provide distancing himself from J5 (think Justin Timberlake). Justin has to earn a crossover not think he is entitled to it because of his previous success.
I don't think he can do it, but we will see, the evidence is just not there to match the hype … he doesn't seem to be listening to anyone, and alienates anyone criticizing him, so in order to learn the hard way the public will force his sales to crash, and kill his career off until the message gets through. Lets just hope he changes up quickly, but it may be too late.

Re: leon – Bieber recieved a Diamond Award. His single 'Baby' has gone platinum 12x. Beating out previous record holder Elton John who's song 'candle in the sun' went platinum 11x. So yes Bieber has the number one selling single ever!

  24. Dadler says – reply to this

Re: Zoey_Graham – NO he doesn't - Its not even close in terms of worldwide sales. You must be 14. Candle is still the best selling single of all time. Besides, you don't compare digital sales with physical singles that people had to run out and buy. lastly, Biebs full album sales will never ever touch those of Elton John, much less Jackson. You're delusional

  25. thelma diggs says – reply to this

Re: leon – That is not my post about JB's documentary being #1. Your comment should be addressed to Leon, not me.

  26. Shawn says – reply to this

Re: ivan – No the potential is not there……not even remotely close! Never will be EVER!

  27. Jen says – reply to this

Re: teeter totterRe: CarpathiaRe: ok_then – No. You have to take into account the way the music industry has changed due to the internet and downloading of music. Justin Bieber and performer of today have a HUGE advantage when it comes to how record sales and their position on the charts are concerned.Artists like Michael Jackson used to actually have to have RADIO airplay. People had to actually leave their homes, go to a store and purchase a physical copy of the music.A songs "popularity" was not based on fans with nothing better to do, wasting hours clicking on a You Tube video to make a song reach the top of top of the charts. A number one song is meaningless now. Justin Bieber could never have made it if he had to play by the same rules as Michael Jackson had to during most of his career. A "number one" album or song today is nothing but an illusion…and a joke.

  28. Jen says – reply to this

Re: leon – Plus, I don't give a crap if the song "Baby" sells 20 million copies. The quality of the song is not even in the same universe as ANY Elton John song, much less "Candle in the Wind." Justin Bieber can have all the cheap "number one" songs he wants. No one outside of his fan base can probably name any of them. It is a joke to think people will remember a Bieber song one year after it is released, and certainly not twenty or thirty years into the future. Maybe his behavior is all plan to keep him in the media eye because his music sure isn't good enough to do that.

The egomaniac knew two facts about Michael and they say he knows almost everything about MJ? What a load of shiat his p.r. is trying to sell. But people into real music and not autotune or singing over tracks know what music is, and what greatness is…and Justin doesn't possess any of it. He is nothing but a tween singer and now turned into some weird "black culture" rapper wannabe…sorry but people are black and it's not a culture, it's a skin tone. You're hanging out with strippers and prostitutes, smoking pot, doing the shirrup, some roids to stop looking 10, treading people like crap…you're nothing but an ashhole now…a joke who runs around in onsies to go to interviews with, strips nearly naked for your 7 yea old fans, strangest guy out there. All a gimmick and always will be. You can't even sing MJ at a karaoke bar. Gonna be burned out by next year and people are waiting for you to fall because you have no humility, have a God complex rather than a spirituality, think you're something special because Scooter and all the morons who pay you tell you what you wanna hear, all while trying to replace you with someone younger. You can act the fool and get your name in every media outlet but it doesn't change the fact that your an delusional asshat.

    Re: What???

Grow up, stop projecting your insecurities and distaste for your own life onto others. Provide constructive criticism not a barrage of idiotic remarks that just confirms your lack of critical thinking and concomitant integrity.

Re: leon – It is the #1 best selling digital single of all time. Baby was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America earlier this year as the top selling single of all time this includes on demand audio and internet streams. Never Say Never is the #1 top grossing music documentary of all time and you can go to IMDb or google it to find out that is indeed fact.

  34. ok_then says – reply to this

Re: Jen – The thing is back in MJ's day the only way people could get their hands on music was to go into a record store and buy a single or album. Record stores are becoming extinct these days. Times have changed, and those days of selling 25-30 million of one album is long gone, and is no longer possible in today's market. Justin Bieber is in the right place at the right time to take advantage of today's social media.

  35. ok_then says – reply to this

Re: Dadler – Physical sales are dying out like the dinosaurs once did. Today's youth get their music online or on places like YouTube. Record stores? When was the last time you seen one? I know I have to go out and find one if I want a album. This is just reflecting today's social media reality and digital sales. You can't sell physical albums like you could, say even 5-10 years ago. It's just a different world now. Lucky for Justin Bieber he became the first superstar born from social media.

Dear Lord help this poor boy. Not only did he get the age of MJ wrong (these things happen) but he COMPLETELY missed an album. Not just any album mind you, but THE BIGGEST SELLING ALBUM OF MJS CAREER and IN HISTORY.
The boy is clearly trying his best, but he has a very long way to go and personally I don't think he has it in him.
IF he concentrated on making music rather than getting pissed, scrawling graffiti on hotels, spitting on his fans, starting fights and thinking himself to be the big I AM and got a little humility and respect for others, he MAY, JUST hold on by the skin of his teeth and have a couple more years left in him, but I don't think he'll ever be as big as MJ.
