Good for him, nice to see good manners in a man. My late husband was like that, he was from Virginia. A couple of years ago I traveled with a few friends, one who was another gentleman from Virginia and what a pleasure to have someone open your car door and also assist you with walking (I have mobility problems) by holding your hand.
Too bad more men are not raised that way. I cannot speak for all women but I sure appreciate these gestures.
