Rise and shine, tributes! How was Catching Fire last night? Everything you wanted it to be? Or maybe you didn't stay up all night to see the epic flick at midnight. That's cool! You've got alllll weekend! But until then, consider this:
We can’t either! The casting department got it RIGHT when they signed these three for the parts of Katniss, Peeta and Gale! That’s for sure!
Buuuut, just in case J.Law, J.Hutch or L.Hem said no, producers had a list of names that would volunteer as tribute and take their place in the film series!
So who came in second in the Hunger Games casting arena?!
Lyndsy Fonseca as Katniss Everdeen!
We hear producers really shined to Lyndsy Fonseca when she auditioned for the role of Katniss! In fact, the Kick-Ass actress was even on their radars BEFORE Jennifer Lawrence’s name was brought up! Lyndsey even read lines for the part at director Gary Ross’ house!
Hunter Parrish as Peeta Mellark!
Weeds star Hunter Parrish was a serious frontrunner for the role of Peeta before Josh Hutcherson won the part! Parrish and Hutch are actually close friends in real life, but that didn’t stop hunky Hunter from acting his a$$ of in order to get into the Hunger Games! He came soooo close!
David Henrie as Gale Hawthorne!
So how did How I Met Your Mother kid David Henrie hear about the role of Gale Hawthorne? It was his co-star Lyndsy Fonseca who filled him in on the Hunger Games casting call while she was trying out for Katniss! David ended up reading for both Gale and Peeta but producers felt he fell short for both parts.
