We're pretty sure Rashida Jones purchased a round trip bus ticket to Feministville, and she's making her way back slowly!

After Twitter ranting that certain celebs in the media should stop being "whores," the Parks And Rec star decided to really put the nail in the anti-slut coffin by writing a new essay for Glamour mag!

The topic of conversation you may ask?!

The "Pornification" of EVERYTHING!

Rashida finally addressed the hashtag that got most of the attention during her war of Twitter words, confessing the real meaning behind #stopactinglikewhores:

My hashtag was "stopactinglikewhores." Key word, acting. Like I said, I'm not criticizing anyone's real sex life; as George Michael tells us, "Sex is natural, sex is fun." But the poles, the pasties, the gyrating: This isn't showing female sexuality; this is showing what it looks like when women sell sex. (Also, let's be real. Every woman's sexuality is different. Can all of us really be into stripper moves? The truth is, for every woman who loves the pole, there's another who likes her feet rubbed. But in pop culture there's just one way to be. And so much of it feels staged for men, not for our own pleasure.)

She also called out Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus by name, saying they are hardly role models for their millions of female fans:

"What else ties these pop stars together besides, perhaps, their entangled G-strings? Their millions of teen-girl fans. Even if adult Miley and Nicki have ownership of their bodies, do the girls imitating them have the same agency? Where do we draw the line between teaching them freedom of sexual expression and pride in who they are on the inside? Are we even allowed to draw a line?"

We'll spare everyone the rest of the impeccably written details and have you decide whether or not you agree with what she's saying…

You can read the entire essay, where Miz Jones goes on to mention Sinéad O'Connor's many open letters to Miley by clicking HERE!

She cares way too much. Live your own life Rashida and don't give a shit about the other people doing what they want. They're not role models, if a parent can't get their kid to not act and dress like Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj, then they're just shitty parents

Great article. Keep it up Rashida.

Rashida, you need to mind your own business. And shut the fuck up. Because nobody gives a shit about what you have to say. You're irrelevant. Continue with your "Acting Roles". I'm sure you make a ton of money, and have millions of fans.

    Love Her!!

Re: kitykatz – It is a good thing to give a shit about what is going on around you. And it is a well-know fact that once a child gets to their pre-teen years, friends and media have more influence over them than their parents do - so, if a parent is having difficulty with these influences it doesn't mean they are shitty parents.

  6. 6

Re: Cynthia – Her comments are very relevant. And she should definitely keep talking and writing.

Re: rosebud99 – Please, there was influence of popstars dressing like whores when I was a kid and I turned out just fine, you know why? Because my parents cared enough to probably lock me in my room if i tried leaving the house looking like a slut. So, no matter what kind of influence the media has on teens, doesn't mean that the parents can't do anything. It's just that now people are too afraid to punish their kids, because smacking your children on the bum is looked upon as child abuse now. Not saying that you should beat your kids to a pulp, and definitely not in the face, but a good smack on the bum never killed anyone. Raising your children is not hard, don't leave it up to celebrities to do your job

I want to weep at how perfect this is. Finally, someone isn't agreeing to the ass shaking and kissing these stupid girls asses out of the pressure of wanting to be liked. What they're doing is stupid and they're insecure because they know if they didn't show their tits and gyrate that they wouldn't sell anything. Have some fucking respect for yourself and listen to Rashida Jones.Re: rosebud99 – And thank you for being someone who understands how women like Rashida are what that industry DESPERATELY needs.

    Well explained, Rashida.
Re: Mike – You're one of the men she asked to hear from. Nice.

    Re: Cynthia

It is her business, it's not like this is private stuff it's being put everywhere now. Miley is a constant trending topic and only for the bad things she does or wears (or doesn't wear). Like she said "acting" she never offended their sexual life. Also how does this have anything to do with her career. And might I say I love her in Parks and Rec. Her 'irrelevancy' has nothing to do with what she wants to say. Just because someone isn't that famous anymore means they can publicly state their opinion? You do realize you are just making yourself seem like a dumbass right?

that was great. i envisioned ann's voice reading that to knope. regardless, it's news to me that nicki and miley have only been ACTING like whores this whole time. they are clearly underestimated as actors then and maybe miley should be considered to play fraulein maria in the next live performance of the sound of music.

  12. 12

I'm sure Rashida should know of that which she speaks as she is the daughter of soul/pop royalty, Mr. Quincy Jones and her mother is legendary actress Peggy Lipton hence, I respect her viewpoint on this issue: yes, raunch can put you front and center in the entertainment industry for "15 minutes" but class, talent, and intelligence will ensure longevity. I love that she speaks out on this even though she is not a parent, just a concerned female citizen. Pre-teen girls need to know that they are worth more than their bodies, especially in light of the fact that sex-trafficking is a real problem and the USA no longer ranks in the top 20 best of anything anymore!!!

  13. 13

She does have a point, except Miley really is a whore. If Miley has a problem with that, then I suggest the whore put some clothes on, put her tongue back in her mouth and stop blowing every guy she meets.

Re: kitykatz – so… it is the parents fault that society has made such a shift that many feel they can't discipline their kids without fear of being held criminally responsible. i live in canada and if a parent locks their child in their room, for whatever reason, they are investigated and could possibly have the children removed from their home; even if they don't, they have to deal with people coming into their home and invading their privacy…. all because they don't want their 12 year old to leave the house looking like a slut… ya fucking right.
this is not a problem caused by one person or by one group of people. it is not miley's fault and it is not the parent's fault. we are in a time of social crisis and the fact that people don't even want to hear comments coming from the other side of the wall is terrifying to me….. there is a responsibility on the individuals who flaunt their lives for all the world to see, to at least act and behave like decent human beings (while they are in that role. miley can twerk all she wants in her bedroom or even out at the club… hell i do it to….) but no matter how fun i think it would be or how somewhat gratifying it could be to display my rather nice body for the world to see, i would not do it, because of the impact it would have on others and the reputation i would like to uphold and present to the world about myself…..

  15. 15

I'm not familiar w/her, but you go girl!!

  16. Tiffany says – reply to this

She is not feminist, feminism is not about bashing and trashing other women which is what she is doing. I do not agree with those celebrities choices but I would not trash them for it like that. She needs to leave the parenting to the parents.

  17. 17

Re: Tiffany – Being a feminist does not mean that you automatically have to support every stupid thing another woman does. When a woman does something that denigrates women in general, they need to be held accountable. Or in Miley's case, educated.

  18. Lela says – reply to this

I love Rashida Jones! She is telling it as it is! And it is absolutely her business, because Miley and Nikki are sell themselves publicly and she's part of the public. She has every right to speak out, since they are parading themselves around. Every single word she has said is true, they are selling themselves and it does have a negative influence about body image and self-worth on girls. Doesn't mean every girl is going to be influenced by this garbage (thank goodness), but it means some will and that is terrible because the messages that Miley and Nikki send is that it's fine to sell your body for record sales and fame.

  19. K says – reply to this

she is getting a buzz, you know if you mention Nicki,s name in a wrong are right way you are going to get a buzz,to each is own she can say whatever she wants.

  20. Justin says – reply to this

The media [author included in this case] are the real whores. Shelling out sex news and gossip for everyone. I realize this website is part of that and is a shining example of how pathetic people are.

  21. B says – reply to this

I agree. Miley and Nicki are both trashy whores. But you know what? To each his own. It's up to them to decide what they want to do with their bodies, and if you don't like it, don't watch.

  22. yoyoyoyooyoyop says – reply to this

this woman comes out of nowhere.
she's just there cause her father is famous.
She should get a personality and talent.

  23. JS says – reply to this

Re: Mike – But what about the kids who are lacking guidance already and looking up to these women as role models? And you can sit there and say all you want about parental responsibility but when everyday a young girls sees turns on her TV or opens a magazine and sees hey this is what gets you attention, this is what sells records, this is what gets you on TV they are going to emulate that. As far as Rashida being told to mind her own business, this is her business this should be everybody's business. The apathy toward others is why the world is what it is today. These women have set us back what it took years of struggle to finally almost be equals to men.

  24. @v@ says – reply to this

Re: Justin – Not. Reporting and writing about current news and entertainment issues is an actual accredited field of study. Universities hand out writing and journalism degrees for it. Acting like a whore does not have a faculty anywhere. Rashida's piece is an opinion piece, which could also be called an editorial if she were an editor. Writing is not akin to foam fingering yourself with your tongue out.

  25. 25

#teamrashida However, she forgets to mention the elephant. And that is lack of proper education. Not the kids that make these girls famous, but the entertainers themselves. Both Nicki and Miley, at best, have a SOLID 6th grade education. That's it. No joke. 6th grade. And we wonder why they pull ignorant stunts in the name of fame.

  26. 26

She's right. The problem with feminists and the PC police in general is they try to force people to change their mindsets solely to accommodate themselves. Don't want to be called a wh!ore? Don't act like one. If you want to act like an attention seeking skank then fine, but don't get all over me for saying so.

  27. 27

People are saying "the media controls x" So basically, that means people are stupid, fickle and easily manipulated, which means they shouldn't be allowed to breed. The worst part is one of those "easily influenced" brain dead teenage girls can lay on her back, pop out more brain dead idiots all while relying on men the entire time. Sigh.

  28. 28

Wow. Someone with a brain in Hollywood. Shiz. She nailed it. And all those greedy sell outs acting like whores.

when was it bad to care about something? Not sure when that become put down.

  30. 30

Re: kitykatz – I completely agree 100% and this is part of the reason our generation is so different from the others before and after ours there's no point in talking any sense into them, soon the 90's generation will show itself. people that are too afraid to discipline their kids are the same ones that tell their kids its safer to be indoors playing video games, and university is a guaranteed investment. LOL

  31. 31

Re: sarah – ummm as you said you life in CANADUH…i'm pretty sure the feds aren't gonna come slamming down your door anytime soon if you discipline your dumbass child for looking like a slut. i'm sorry, but your boo hoo poor me idk how to discipline story is a joke but i'm not trying to scare you or anything since it seems like the stupidest shit is just so darned "terrifying" to a cornball like you right?

  32. Agree says – reply to this

Agree with the poster down there. To take Miley and Kim K seriously is actually to miss the point. No one is seriously looking up to them. And isn't Rashida Jones participating in the least feminist industry in the world? 99 per cent of HW films are sexist or reinforce unrealistic ideas about beauty and women's value.
