Her voice is decent enough, but this song is awful. Cliched lyrics, annoying beat, stupid metaphor. Maybe the rest of her album will be good? Would be a completely different story if she put out a Broadway-based album, instead of this pop stuff, because that's where her voice shines. It just feels out of place here.

Re: No.. – I agree. I can't see this being a hit. She should stick to Broadway.

  3. Christy says – reply to this

I find it insulting to call her voice "decent enough", her voice is pure excellence, but she has no idea how to use it. This song does her no favors. It's very frustrating because her acting and singing are especially strong, but her taste in projects is questionable.

I love it. There are enough catchy phrases staying in my mind to want me keep listening. I love Lea's Broadway voice, but she has covered so many pop songs so brilliantly, it's nice to hear something of her own.

It was such a treat not to hear about her for a whole month. That"s what you call the "grace period" (after some major significant event), although she didn't seem to understand this concep very well, Paul Walker's entourage seems much more dignified.

    This is awesome.

and newsflash, people, Lea Michele can do whatever she wants as an artist. This album will sell. and her voice is amazing. She sang a lot of pop on Glee, so to say she shouldn't be singing poppy music is dumb.

    Sad story heard many times.

Actor in a TV show thinks they are bigger then they really are. No one knows her unless you watch Glee.

Not a great voice not a great song. If you did not know who she was (and most don't) only glee watchers you would not pay this any mind.

She needs to stop reading her own press. Wish her the best with her CD.

    The Truth Hurts

Re: The Truth – How can something be "truth" when there are no facts? You are nothing more than a gossiper. You clearly think you are bigger than you actually are - my evidence? Your own posting.

  9. ORIENTALS READ MINDS!! says – reply to this

Asians can hear, and see what you're visually thinking.
THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A MEME! This is the absolute complete truth!!!!
Asians hide their mind reading abilities by having completely expressionless faces so they don't accidentally show facial expressions when people think things they don't like, find funny, astonishing, etc, and Asians segregate so their not nearly as susceptible to that happening.
Asians also segregate, and are untalkative to avoid accidentally saying things that are similar to what people are thinking and going to say.
All Asians are keeping their mind reading abilities a secret, they don't want ANYONE to know they can read minds! They value hiding it more than their own lives!!!
Try thinking, and visually picturing things as wild as you can when you are around Asians, and look for Asians who give people dirty/particular looks for what appears to be for completely no reason, it works if you try enough!!!

Re: GunnyRe: The TruthRe: The Truth – That"s what's sad; "louder"??? Louder what??? I don' get it! No one really seems to care. When you have a Miley Cyrus you can be sure hat the execution will never fall short down the road but Lea Michele doesn't have this kind of stature. So 'louder" "cannonballs" (wreckingball!!!!) are words out of proportion for lea. Rest, heal honey…even if Naya walks all over you…take time to regain your strength and rebuild your character….people will respect you more for it (and not this diversion)

Re: The Truth – The truth is many people enjoy her voice and beside being a tv star she was great on Bway as well. Her vocals already are better than Miley or Katy or Selena or a many other so called recording artists.

  13. Kim says – reply to this

Re: No.. – he pop voice is better than decent. She has actual vibrato and such that already puts her ahead of many singers. But come on she can't do a bway album yet. She has to establish herself first.

  14. stop it says – reply to this

Re: annainparis – Naya what does she has to do with this? Lea is a great performer stop pretending she isn't. Knocking her down doesn't boost you fav.

  15. annainparis says – reply to this

Re: stop it – After Cory's death Naya came full force exposing herself, her boyfriend, her relationship, she even got engaged, basically she walked all over Lea. Lea feels as if she should step out ("louder" "cannonwhatevershit"), her boyfriend committed suicide, show some dignity, step back a little no matter what the commotion is. WHEN YOU DONT HAVE THE STATURE YOU STICK WITH SUBTLETIES! Lea can't have haters because she is not big enough to have (or not) haters. She is just using strong adjectives (totally disproportionate) for someone who is pretty much irrelevant, talented but irrelevant so I agree 200% with The Truth here. Even Cory's death (and whatever state of being…which she hasn't really dealt with) is not a stepping stone, it is just a tragic event, nothing else, not a personal revolution, revelation….just tragic.

the way she sings, it very Broadway…. doesn't sound like POP, she needs to work on that,,,, sounds like something that would be on a glee CD….

  18. 18

Wow whats with the Hate? Ya'll eating up bullshit music like nothing. Fact: Lea Michele can sing circles around any act in Pop Music right now (besides Kelly Clarkson).

Re: badnfluenz – Susan Boyle can sing too (although Lea doesnt unfortunately suffer from the asperger syndrome communicating her every move and feeling…..pfffffff)

  20. 20

I like it she has a beautiful voice why do they always autotune and already flawless voice so it sounds chipmunky..

  21. myfiercepage says – reply to this

She try to sounds like Sia, which is not maximize her true range. She actually can't punch with a better note. But so far so good, we can still hear the hint of Sia in this song.

Re: perez posse superfan 777 – so they can make an album in one month! Might as well have sung christmas carols (oppss sorry clarkson got that one this year to redeem herself from the whole cyrus fiasco)

  23. So much hate says – reply to this

Her voice is amazing - saying this song is not doing it justice is jumping ahead; you've only listened to the first minute so stop jumping the gun and saying it's terrible.

Also - this is not a distraction from what's really going on with her or what has tragically happened; she has been working on this album way before Cory died.

(Also, what has Naya getting engaged have anything to do with this?)

  24. Keith Gravy says – reply to this

This is amazing! Her voice is great and this song is very catchy and I know that Lea will do great things with her solo career. Don't Stop Be-LEA-vin'!

  25. 25

all it will do is remind people of wrecking ball.

lea has a great voice. I've heard it several times on Glee. this song SUCKS.

  26. Julia says – reply to this

Lea Michelle is talented and beautiful with an amazing voice. Haters here obviously have sad lives to spread such negativity. Something the lovely Ms Michelle who is too busy living her life positively after dealing with such tragedy, to ever bother with.

  27. Sara says – reply to this

Slightly disappointed by the preview. Because I tend to agree her voice is much better suited for broadway, but I could see this being a hit. I think the preview is the beginning of the song and I would imagine that by the end of the song, her voice gets more powerful which is when she really shines. That's normally the case for songs like this so. I mean, honestly…if Unconditionally by Katy Perry can be a hit…this CERTAINLY can. Either way…looking forward to the whole song and the album.

  29. Beth says – reply to this

Re: annainparis – Are you a Naya fan? Because it sounds like. The fact is, Lea wrote all but two of these songs far before Cory died, Naya released her single, and Naya got engaged. Cannonball was written before all of that. Also fact, Cory did NOT commit suicide. It was an accident. You can say that it was a suicide all you want, but the coroners report says it was an accident. I may be reading into this too much, but it seems like you're afraid that Lea's single/album might sell better than Naya's. Well guess what, it's too soon to know. Btw, this song was written by Sia so if you're saying you don't like it, you're basically insulting a very well-known songwriter.

  30. annainparis says – reply to this

Re: Beth – Lea is an opportunist, she is using the events to make career moves. I have never heard about an engagment or an album in the making before Cory"s death. The guy is dead, stop yelling on every rooftop that your love was unique. Show dignity. Cory made explosive combos (drugs, alcohol…), no one forced it upon him, he simply numbed himself to death (it is probably not the time to raise the engagment flags, so idiotic!). Exactly, a great singer should outshine a good songwriter and not the other way around, you just made her look like clueless.

I absolutely love Lea and will always be a dedicated fan, but this song is just not what i expected from her. Her voice does not shine through this song and i honestly feel dissapointed. It sounds very cliche and like a Melissa Gorga type song.

Re: annainparis – Thank your for your polite, well-written response. I see where you are coming from. Both Lea and Naya's albums were planned prior to Cory's death. Lea had co-written all but a few songs on her album prior to his death, whereas Naya had some sort of issue with her management and had to stop writing her album for a little. She must've resolved it as she released her single awhile ago.As for the engagement, I agree that it was in poor timing (that's Big Sean's fault though). Naya did sort of walk all over her, whether she meant to or not. Anyway, I like the song and will give her album a chance. I feel like some of the other songs will be better. I reread what you wrote and realized I misunderstood, so I apologize for being harsh. I agree that Lea needs to to take a little break for herself and then come back strong. She did work a year on this album, though, and so she probably didn't want to wait longer. It won't come out until March, so we'll have to see how it goes. Again, sorry for being harsh! Have a great week :)
