What's with you newfound hate for McDonald's. Did you finally realize that the people you bully can fight back? Are you just mad that you can't eat there anymore because you might get fat again? You should just stick to "reporting" celebrity gossip after every other website already has.

Untold story? Oh, it was told. Over and over and over. However, brainless rumor mongers like yourself and your fellow idiots there at Marioworld chose to randomly change facts about the case and turn it into some ridiculous folk lore urbania nonsense. The woman who was burned almost lost her fucking legs. the coffee was BOILING hot. Not just hot. BOILING hot.

Both parties in this suit are idiots. McD's for not paying medical and the old lady for spilling coffee IN A PARKED CAR!

so its no decision by any company on how hot coffee is…make it at 80 degrees…it wont extract coffee flavor…too cold….make it with 300 degree water…too hot….what is the world wide accepted standard to brew coffee?
answer? 195-205 degrees…thats it..no decision…just facts..so bottom line it must be brewed with coffee that hot and the coffee will come out only slightly cooler than that…now nobody wants a bad cup of coffee. so how is it the businesses responsibility that coffee is made with very hot coffee..then given to you…should they let it cool to 150 degrees?
what the heck is any business serving coffee to do? ridiculous.

Only had coffee there once, but you have to let at least 10 minutes pass before you try to drink it. Like McDonald's but I am lucky enough to live in Southern California and In n Out is ten times better (but hard to beat Micky D's fries).

NO this has been circulating on fb this year. IT IS horrific what REALLY happened as she is STILL the butt of people's jokes. Everyone really should watch the documentary. And to this day she is the butt of people's jokes. So sad. She was NOT driving.. the coffee more than burned her.. it went down to the BONE it was horrific. And she only sued for medical cost and to have the coffee turned down (it was almost 200 degrees) and the judge took away all the money jury gave to her (bullsht) and they only turned the coffee down 1 degree. Very very sad

I'm really glad the truth finally came out, this poor woman was ridiculed for years when all she wanted was her bills paid for! I feel truly sorry for this elderly woman who was severely hurt and dragged through the mud by this asshole business and the media!

I'm sorry she got burned. I heard a different version of this story. I heard that the cup melted and disintegrated in her lap. Thats why I supported her when I first heard about this case in the late 90s from other kids. Now I don't support her anymore. She burned herself. Like me almost flipping a riding mower over on myself on the side of a hill while hotdogging. If I had died under the blade, my parents would have sued the the company that made it. "its too dangerous to ride sideways on a near vertical hill". It was my own negligence. It was her own negligence.

Hot coffe in the legs is stupid. The Lawsuit is a fraud.

  15. 15

Re: leaveperezalone – she is sewing to get the temperature turned down and for them to pay for medical bills. If you looked at her wounds since she was so old she had a chance of dieing from her wounds being opened like that from where they cut her they could have got infected.

  16. 16

Yeah, I hate people that sue on technicalities. They are in styrofoam, if it wasn't hot enough to melt Styrofoam it's hard to believe she received anything more than 1st degree burns. It's common knowledge that coffee is served hot. There shouldn't have to be a warning label on a damn coffee cop. She made a mistake and spilled the hot coffee herself. HER FAULT. My mind was blown she made 2 million bucks. Fortunately she's black, which means she blew it all on crack, booze, rims, gold teeth and other useless crap to the point she has no money left.

Re: NookiesWA – and if you watched the video you would know she did NOT received 2 million dollars, but received less then 500,000. Jury decided on 2 million, the judge changed the amount.

  19. 19

Wow, I learned a lot. This happened when she was 79 and she died at 91, making the last 12 years of a long, fruitful life an utter misery. She was vilified when we didn't know all of the facts. This is a good lesson about rushing to judgement.

Seriously it's COFFEE it's supposed to be hot; iced coffee wasn't available at Mc D's when this happened. You would think that at 71 years of age she would have known that. It was a ridiculous law suit and it lead the way for the million of other frivolous lawsuits that followed.

Re: cameron – No it is not you fucking idiot. MC D raised the water temp to get more coffee out of each pound. Think, 50 cups more per brew, per store, that is more then what you make in a year, fool

    scalding.
