This is so horrible!

Mónica Spear, a former Miss Venezuela and up-and-coming TV star was killed in an attempted robbery, according to police!

The 29-year-old was on vacation with her ex-husband Thomas Henry Berry and their 5-year-old daughter, Maya. The family was driving along the Puerto Cabello-Valencia highway in Venezuela when their car crashed!

Officials believe both Mónica and Thomas were shot to death by unknown gunmen while Maya watched! The little girl survived but was shot in the leg!

Unbelievable how heinous of a crime this is!

Mónica had been living in Miami recently and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Central Florida.

Her father, Rafael spoke about the tragedy of losing his daughter, saying:

"This is a great loss for us. She was very charismatic, a very good daughter, a very good mother and she loved Venezuela."

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of Mónica and Thomas. We can only hope the assailants who did this are tracked down and brought to justice!

Unfortunately there won't be justice. and not just for her, but for the 70 deaths suffered already in 2014 in Venezuela or to the thousands of deaths in 2013 alone. Venezuela has a murder rate of 80 people per 100,000. Set the example and use your media to spread this as far as you can take it. Venezuela was not this way before… And no violence is not everywhere you look. Violence needs to be terminated as much as possible and in Venezuela, the government only worsens the case. Venezuela is an exceptional case and nobody is recognizing it. Media is the strongest mean of spreading news. I just wish famous people knew how much influence they have and use it to make a change bigger than themselves. My Venezuela is going to ruins, a country that could easily be as powerful and the United States if it wanted to. Violence is not to blame here, Venezuela is being mistreated by its government, and this degree of violence is NOT common.
