You've got some splainin' to do!
The popular carrier's Chicago flight 4013, carrying 124 passengers and five crew members, is under investigation after landing at the wrong airport on Sunday - nearly seven miles from its correct destination!
Whoopsie, times A MILLION!
The plane was scheduled to fly from Chicago's Midway International Airport to Branson Airport in Missouri…
Instead, the Boeing 737-700 landed at Taney County Airport - on a runway half the size of its original destination!
"The landing was uneventful, and all customers and crew are safe. Our ground crew from the Branson airport arrived at the airport to take care of our customers and their baggage."
One of the passengers had a slightly different take on the airline's tame story:
"As soon as we touched down the pilot applied the brake very hard and very forcibly…the pilot came on and said, 'Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry to tell you we landed at the wrong airport.”'
This is the second time in two months an aircraft has landed at the wrong airport!
In November, a plane that was supposed to deliver parts to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas landed nine miles north at Colonel James Jabara Airport!
May we suggest an updated GPS, Captain?!
We know it stinks to plug your TomTom into a computer to receive the updated maps…but C'MON! ;)
We're glad everyone's safe, because this airport snafu could've turned out tragic!
