President Obama Admits To Smoking Pot: It’s No More Dangerous Than Alcohol! Is National Legalization Next?!

barry o weed edit

Barry O is no stranger to some kind bud!

President Obama revealed in a new candid interview that he has smoked pot in the past and finds it to be no more harmful than drinking alcohol!

Wow. Never did we ever think we’d hear the Prez say something like that!

Obama explained:

"As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol.”

But if marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol, shouldn’t it be legalized nationwide??

The President didn’t unveil any plans to make weed legal coast to coast but he did weigh in his support for Colorado and Washington's new laws that make dancing with Mary Jane A-OK.

He shared:

“It’s important for a society not to have a situation in which a large portion of people have at one time or another broken the law and only a select few get punished.”

Obama was referring to the disproportionate punishments handed out to lower-class and minority youths who are charged with smoking marijuana.

It sounds like he’s down for a roll in the grass, but Obama did also say that when it comes to drugs, we need to draw the line somewhere. He later admitted:

"I also think that, when it comes to harder drugs, the harm done to the user is profound and the social costs are profound. And you do start getting into some difficult line-drawing issues. If marijuana is fully legalized and at some point folks say, ‘Well, we can come up with a negotiated dose of cocaine that we can show is not any more harmful than vodka.’ Are we open to that? If somebody says, ‘We’ve got a finely calibrated dose of meth, it isn’t going to kill you or rot your teeth.’ Are we OK with that?”

We don’t condone using drugs of ANY kind. But we’re impressed that Obama is even open to the idea of legalizing pot. That’s the kind of progressive attitude we like to see in an elected leader!

You go, Barry O!!!

Um, am I the only one concerned that our president is admitting to breaking the law as teenager?!?! Yeah, I get that pretty much everyone smokes weed. We can assume/read between the lines, whatever, but I am flabbergasted that the man who holds the highest office in this land just admitted to breaking the law.

I'm glad that he supports the legalization of pot, but to speak of breaking the law so casually? So now all little teenagers can run around breaking laws they think keep them from doing "harmless" things? Nice example you have just set Mr. President, REAL nice.

Re: Seriously?! – EVERYONE already knows. It was reported LONG ago, it's very well known. What do you want him to do, lie about it at this point? I am so far from being an Obama fan, but damn, at least he's being honest this time.

Re: shaygirl1309 – Why are you worried about important things like jobs when you could just smoke pot and be a burn out. I can't believe people would insult you for bringing up the fact Obama could care less about people and just wants to coast through his second term and have everyone like him.

Obama referenced a line made famous by former President Bill Clinton who, while admitting to trying marijuana, said he did not inhale.
"I never understood that line," Obama continued. "The point was to inhale. That was the point."

Who F'n Cares??? Alcohol is MUCH worse, how many deaths are from smoking pot??? NONE, how many from alcohol?? Too damn many……get a life and get off your high horses….and no I don't smoke it but I've lived with an alcoholic (like I said I lived with, RIP).

Re: Rahn – He's only one guy, and there are big forces out there. Seems to me any raiding would be more about controlling cash flow than about a bit of dried herb.

  15. 15

Sounds like he cares more about legalizing pot than gay marriage.

  16. 16

Re: Mad Dog – well, it's rather sensible of him to do so, don't you think? Marijuana is something that can affect any person regardless of their bedroom habits. It can be used for medicinal or recreational purposes. It helps many people. Whether two gay people have a piece of paper stating that they are married or not is really so irrelevant compared to this issue that I wonder why you even thought of bringing it up. *shrugs*
Anyway, the most important point Obama made was that he doesn't think marijuana is more dangerous than alcohol. Being a president of any country where marijuana is illegal wouldn't allow him to speak his mind. He needs to be diplomatic, so to speak. Research tell us (if we go to trouble of reading on the subject) that compared to alcohol, marijuana is a God send to humanity while alcohol, as good as it may be for disinfecting purposes, destroys our bodies every time we take a sip.

Common sense dictates that under influence of any substance which weakens our motor coordination we should never attempt to drive a car or do anything requiring our reflexes. It's not the alcohol or any other substance that is responsible for accidents. Unfortunately stupidity cannot be cured and it's upsetting that stupidity is the reason for banning a substance which otherwise could help millions of people without killing them with side effects of chemical based drugs created in government approved laboratories.
By the way, I am not a smoker, of anything, but I see the benefits of this substance on daily basis (cancer patients, glaucoma sufferers, chronic back pain sufferers, etc) and I thank God every time I can see even a shade of relief and a smile on their tired faces.

    Me too!Soooo?

Lets just not forget that President Bush admitted to doing cocaine so I think that the fact that President Obama smoked weed in his past is less of an offense.
