Ellen DeGeneres' Lesbian Comedy Gets The Green Light For A Pilot At NBC!

Second time could possibly be a charm for NBC!

It has been almost a year since the peacock network cut The New Normal from its line-up and now they've given the green light to another gay-focused comedy, this time by Ellen DeGeneres!

The new comedy titled One Big Happy, centers around a lesbian who gets pregnant with her straight male best friend, only to find out that he's found the love of his life and gets married to her!

Eep! Talk about a complicated relationship and being the other woman!

The comedy will be written and co-executively produced by 2 Broke Girls writer Liz Feldman who will reunite alongside with her former boss, Ellen!

If this new show is anything like 2 Broke Girls, we have a feeling it'll be a comedic hit!

Can't wait to see the religious nutjobs and other bigoted, narrow-minded, ignorant lowlifes go bat shit crazy over this show!

But….someone mentioning "anti-gay" (looking at you…Duck Dynasty) it get pulled off instantly.

I'm sorry, but is NBC stupid? They had a show with a gay couple that crashed and burned in the ratings (can't even remember the name of it). Sean Hayes Show failed too and is on "hiatus".
Main Street America isn't interested in gay TV shows. Sorry to break it to Perez and Ellen.

Re: stefystef – ever heard of a show called 'Will & Grace'. It lasted 8 seasons. ;)

Honestly Perez, can you not write anything without slipping in a nasty, gay comment???????????????????????

Well MILHOUSE: I agree with both SHAYGIRL!#)( and STEFYSTEF that America is not interested in centrally gay shows. Will and Grace was an under toning of gayness, it wasn't in your face. I think it was more centred on the friendship between Will and Grace than any other thing really. These other shows that have flopped were more gay.

Re: Verdad – you obviously haven't seen even a single episode of Will & Grace. It has 'gay' written all over it. In fact, there are two gay main characters in show. One of them is a character named Jack who is so flamboyant he describes himself as 'gayer than Christmas at Bloomingdales'. LOL. Also, another main character called Karen may be straight but she has always been very vocal about her lust for other women and other 'lesbian' experiences.

America isn't interested in 'gay' tv shows?! Hmm. So America is interested in anti gay Tv shows instead?! HAHA. Look at Duck Dynasty, the new season premiered with its lowest premier episode ratings ever. The second episode of the new season even has lower viewership. LOL. Why don't you bigots try putting Kirk Cameron and Pat Robertson on mainstream TV and let us see how viewers will receive them. I'm guessing cancellation faster than you can say 'flop'. LOL
