If the U.S. Department of Justice has its way, one of last year's Rolling Stone cover boys might be executed.
On Thursday Attorney General Eric Holder and federal prosecutors announced they were seeking the death penalty in the trail of alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev!
He stands accused of making homemade bombs with his now deceased brother, Tamerlan, and detonating them near the finish line of last April's Boston Marathon. The explosions killed three people and injured more than 260 others.
If the terror suspect is convicted and subsequently sentenced to death, his would be the first federal execution in over a decade and the highest profile one since Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was given a lethal injection in 2001.
"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev targeted the Boston Marathon, an iconic event that draws large crowds of men, women and children to its final stretch, making it especially susceptible to the act and effects of terrorism."
Prosecutors say Dzhokar, who was 19 when he allegedly committed these heinous crimes, shows no remorse for the attack.
If convicted, do you think Dzhokhar should be put to death?
