Amanda Knox will not go back to Italy without a fight!
The 26-year-old former foreign exchange student was convicted of killing her roommate Meredith Kercher AGAIN yesterday and sentenced to serve 28 years behind bars.
But unlike in 2007, when Amanda was imprisoned for four years before having her guilty verdict overturned, she is on American soil now. And she has no plans of returning to Italy to serve addition jail time. Knox told Robin Roberts on Good Morning America on Friday:
"I will never go willingly back. I’m going to fight this until the very end.”
As determined as she is to remain a free woman though, the new conviction has left Amanda frightened of the possible outcomes. She admitted:
“This really has hit me like a train. I did not expect this to happen. I really expected so much better from the Italian justice system. They found me innocent before. How can they say it’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt?”
Amanda’s ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, was also found guilty of killing Meredith Kercher yesterday. Police believe he tried to flee Italy early this morning but not before being stopped by authorities at the Austrian border. Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years.
