    he was right.

  2. 2

It's tragic to his family and loved ones, but to everyone else it's a sad loss. No one forced him to stick a needle in his arm, this did not have to happen. How many other actors DIDN'T die of an overdose today? Jared should not be apologizing just because people don't agree.

  3. 3

I'm sure Demi Lovato will be shitting all over this guy - but I agree with him. His death was senseless. So was Heath Ledger's, Whitney Houston's and Amy Winehouse's - and so many more. There are so many people battling addiction who don't have the resources to get the help they need, yet these super-talented stars who have everything to live for reject help. He did throw his life away.

ok perez..i've been a longtime reader of your blogs but i'm done. you've just become nothing but a super kiss ass to some and a complete dick to others. hopefully your kid has more sense than you

  5. 5

Yes, it is a tragedy you dumbass, he had an addiction and couldnt control it! Now 3 kids are left without a father, i say it is a tragedy.

He was absolutely right & should've stuck by what he said. You know what, PSH was stupid & selfish. He had 3 young children to take care of & he abandoned them to take drugs.

    7

I TOTALLY agree with Jared. It's sad for family but other then that it was senseless. HE is the one who took his life and HE is the one who chose to stick a needle in his arm in the first place. As soon as someone dies they are the best person ever….same deal with that Cory Monteith. Everyone praised him up and down but HE took his own life. THIS is senseless and stupid. Amen to Jared for saying what MILLIONS believe.

  8. Allyson says – reply to this

    8

senseless and stupid. yes addiction is a disease but you have to start using in the first place for addiction to happen and guess what that is stupid.

"Plus comparing death to genocide? Yikes."

What the hell are you talking about? Genocide is death on a massive scale. A.K.A. much, MUCH worse than one death from a bad batch of drugs. I typically agree with you Perez, but I'm with Jared on this one. He shouldn't apologize for feeling as many of us do- that death from drugs are easily prevented and can hardly be compared to real tragedies in the world.

  10. 10

Perez your idiocy never ceases to amaze me. He was not comparing genocide to death in general he was saying that is one of the thigs he sees as TRAGEDY.
Yes, PSH had a family that is grief stricken, but to die with a needle stuck in his arm is stupid and senseless. I have had several friends die due to overdoses or suicide, while I am VERY sad at the loss of those friends I still find their loss stupid and senseless. If only they had the strength or curaouge to seek help. Stupid and senseless to throw lives away that have such promise or talent or meaning. Stupid and senseless that addiction claims another.

my neighbor's aunt makes $79 an hour on the laptop . She has been out of a job for 7 months but last month her paycheck was $15039 just working on the laptop for a few hours. find out here,,,,,,,,,,,,, WWW.Bay95.ℂOM

I agree with Jared. Anyone who tries heroine even one time is stupid. He choose to start using again after 20+ years of being clean. I do feel bad for his children and family but Philip made the choice. He stuck the needle in his arm.

    13

PSH died of an overdose. That is tragic. It is sad because even though he's a father, a loving significant other, a member of a family, an actor, a well recognized individual, he still chose to give into his addiction and pretty much shit on the lives of quite a few people. Jared didn't say anything that isn't true.

there is nothing wrong with his first tweet what-so-ever. his death, unfortunately, was senseless. I would say the same thing if my little sisters drug addiction took her, which it almost has on a couple occasions. tragic is what happened to Jennifer Hudson's family with her mom and nephew being ripped from her family by a murderer. there is a big difference. PSH was an amazing actor who clearly had demons he could not overcome. sad, but not tragic. also a growing trend in Hollywood, unfortunately.

  15. Amanda says – reply to this

    15

It is senseless and stupid to have done drugs it was a choice made by him and its pathetic since he had children so i agree with Jared

  16. 16

    100% with Jared!

  17. Laura says – reply to this

    17

Even though i;m a big fan of Jared, this was a dick move. The man hadn't even been dead a day and he's being a disrespectful arsehole. Yes, PSH was stupid to take the drugs in the first place, but it IS sad that his little kids and his wife have lost him. People really need to open their mind before spewing shit from their mouth.

  18. Diana says – reply to this

    18

I 100% agree with Jared. I feel sorry for his family and friends. However, he did this to himself. Yes being an addict is an addiction. But, nobody held a gun to his head and, forced him to the drugs. His kids will no longer have a father because he and only he decided that heroin was more important to him than them.

  19. Isabelle says – reply to this

    19

Wow Perez! Seriously "comparing death to genocide" DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT GENOCIDE IS? Genocide is death of MANY people. Jared is saying that he doesn't see Philip Seymour Hoffman's death as tragic because of his use of drugs, yes he was beloved by fans and loved by his family and it's terribly sad, but people shouldn't classify is as a "tragedy" (because it ISN'T.) I get it is hard battling addiction to drugs, but it was YOUR choice to even start using them. Jared has no reason to apologize because he is absolutely right. The first tweet was a little out of line, but at least he explained himself and I completely agree with his explanation. You are judging Jared on his opinion that most people thought when they read PSH died by drugs. Seriously Perez why dont you THINK BEFORE YOU WRITE AN ARTICLE.

I think that people”s comments are being way over analyzed. I'm so over empathetic, I cry every single day over the news, and can't watch half of the movies that come out. That being said, having been married to a drug addict, and left raising a family alone and digging myself out of the after math with absolutely no support system, I feel like I can understand some of the stronger comments. I think it is sad when anyone, of any gender, of any age, throws their life away chasing their demons, but it is fact that this is how they can expect it to end.

    21

Re: pienado – This comment is perfect. Jared was maybe a little callous but he was 100% correct in his original tweet. I wish he hadn't deleted it because of all the insane shit he got for it.

  22. 22

he's right, another stupid ass dead junkie.

  23. 23

Re: Laura – piss off little bitch.

  24. 24

Whether he's right or wrong, 3 children lost their father.
    Parents lost their son.
    A person lost their partner.

I wish celebrities and everyone else would just think of that before giving their opinions.

  25. heyyyyo says – reply to this

    25

Every death is a tragedy, no matter the circumstances. Just because his death was due to substance abuse, doesnt take away from the fact that his children are without a father. Someone died. A human life is gone. When is that ever not a tragedy?
JarPad sounds like just another judgmental asshole who doesn't understand addiction. Was it fair of PSH to leave his family like this? No. But addiction is a disease, and he fought it for 23 years.

Whether you agree with Jared or not, I think this was extremely insensitive to say within hours of his body being found. Like, wait a few days or something. Speaking ill of a man on the day of his death is a little harsh.

  26. 26

    I agree with Jared really

  27. Suzi says – reply to this

    27

Jared's opinion on the matter is totally right. My dad is addicted to heroin and I totally agree with what Jared said.

  28. angela says – reply to this

    28

I completely agree with Jared PSH made a selfish choice and now his family will suffer the consequences completely stupid

  29. 29

He is right it was senseless and stupid the only people who got hurt is his family how is it not stupid and senseless that he put the risk of oding on the card and he could have got clean for his family he could have got clean 10 years ago after finding out his mrs was having a baby. Jared is right on to say it. We all know drugs are bad I feel for his family but I don't feel for him it was his choice.

  30. leedsju says – reply to this

    30

I totally agreed with Jared as well. After bringing 3 children into the world a person has a responsibility to be there to care for them. Surely this should have been an incentive for anyone to get clean. It is with the family he leaves behind my sympathy lies. Wish he had searched for and received the help he need, a tragic waste of a life and talent

  31. valerie says – reply to this

    31

I agree with what Jared said. Here was a man who had a lot to live for, he had kids that needed their father, but he was addicted to heroin. He had been off the drug for 20 years, but then ended back on it again. It was senseless and stupid. Why did he do the drug in the first place, when he should have know what trouble it would cause. Jared meant that dying because of a drug overdose was senseless and stupid and it was.

  32. sadsie says – reply to this

    32

he is not comparing death to genocide. He said when he thinks of tragedy he thinks of genocide etc

  33. anon says – reply to this

    34

Jared Padalecki is right. This actor had it all and his life was thrown away by an addiction that he did to himself..

  35. RKTOR says – reply to this

    35

There was nothing wrong with Jared's original tweet.

  36. MDiBella says – reply to this

    36

He's right. Isn't it sad that such an enormous amount of talent is so often accompanied by a complete lack of common sense? Heroin? Seriously? This is a man who might have provided his three children a very comfortable life. Instead he has provided them with a lifetime mental picture of their father, found dead with a needle in his arm.

It *is* stupid. It's a waste.

And yes, I know about addition. I was raised by an addict. I may not know what life is like for the addict, but I know what it's like for their family. It's bad.

  37. Mimi says – reply to this

    37

I am sorry but I agree with Jared. PSH was idolized by millions. One would have expected him to make better choices. I refuse to mourn for someone who makes such awful life choices. His death is senseless and stupid…But that doesn't make it any less tragic. He let us down.

  38. MDiBella says – reply to this

    38

Re: Mimi – He didn't owe us a thing. He DID owe his kids. And he has, by his own poor choices, ensured that they will not get the father they deserve.

  39. K says – reply to this

    39

While PSH's death is very sad and I'm sure everyone is thinking about his family but seriously, no one forced him to stick that needle in his arm, he CHOSE to take drugs, and the cost was his life. The sad part is that Jared is most likely saying what everyone else is thinking but dare not say. He's just getting all this grief because he's a public figure so the media have someone to attack and fuel the fires.

  40. Lucy says – reply to this

    40

I can't believe this! It was a complete tragedy and I don't care what anyone says. Drugs are a life long addiction, and it was horrible that he got sucked back in by his demons. It is tragic that a family is without a father, husband and son.. and anyone that says that it is "Stupid" and "Senseless" is completely out of line! In 20 years, PSH is going to still be known for his amazing talent and films, and in 20 years no one is going to know who the hell Jared Padalecki is.

  41. whatever says – reply to this

    41

He did not "compare" death to genocide, and he also never said he would apologize for what he said. YOU said he was trying to "apologize". He simply stated his opinion on the definition of 'tragedy'. Ya maybe what he said was upsetting to fans, friends, and Hoffman's family but he's not the only one out there who would have said basically the same thing.

  42. psx2514 says – reply to this

    42

He doesn't need to and shouldn't apologize. First off, it's his opinion, and you should never apologize for your opinion. Second, he's right. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, or Phillip Seymour Heroin DID throw his life away. And he was selfish, too. Not only did lhe ruin his life, buy he ruined the lives of his 3 children and other loved ones. He obviously didn't care about any of those people, otherwise he wouldn't have been doing drugs like he was or at least he would have gotten help.

  43. Samantha hills says – reply to this

    43

You can't judge him for doing that! He had his own opinion about this.
And you all assholes took it the wrong way. I hate people who see something and THING they know all about it and write about it online screw you all! I love jared and I know he is a nice guy!
