New Jeopardy! Champ Is Making Everyone Question Everything They Know About The Game With A Smart (Yes, Smart) New Approach

Ultimately, there isn't much you can do to win Jeopardy! other than know a lot of stuff and be quick on the buzzer. But everything you can do, Arthur Chu is doing!

The 4-day champ uses a game play style engineered to give him an edge - one that doesn't sit well with a lot of the show's fans!

Arthur uses a strategy called the "Forrest Bounce" which consists of jumping from category to category so the other players can't get used to the themes. It works especially well on more gimmicky categories like spelling and Before & After.

He also picks higher dollar values first, giving him a better chance of finding the Daily Doubles - and more importantly not leaving any for the other contestants!

This play style has garnered him both praise and vitriol from viewers! And oh yeah, over $100,000 in winnings and counting!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to hear what he has to say about his winning strategy!

People are angry at him because he actually went into a game with a strategy? Gimme a break. He's not cheating, he's noting breaking any rules, he's not even bending the rules. Dey all jus jelly. The only thing he did wrong might be explaining it on TV. He's a smart guy, but I don't know about that one. lol.

I don't know why this is making the news, unless it's a way to drum up interest for the Tournament of Champions (or afterward, since Arthur is reigning champion and will return following the tournament) or increase viewership. Arthur is not doing anything that other contestants haven't done before. Jumping around the board is not a new thing. There was a contestant who did that last year, which threw off his competitors.

Chu didn't do anything new here. People have a short memory span! Ken Jennings pioneered the random picking of questions years ago to achieve his legendary wins!

Perez, I'm very impressed that a man who's vocabulary includes such words as "totes adorbs" and "sadsies" can use the word "vitriol" correctly in a sentence…somebody's been watching his Sesame Street lol.

Why is the media labeling Arthur Chu as a “villain?” If Arthur Chu was any other race than Asian, would the media still be labeling him a villain? My personal opinion is that the media and Hollywood panders to American and western societal prejudices against Asian males. It seems that many like to villainize Asian men, but that is just my opinion.
