Not only has Philip Seymour Hoffman's death been hard on his own family, his death has also resonated with his peers in the industry as well.

Especially those who worked closely with the late actor.

During Amy Adams' appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio with James Lipton, taped this past week, the actress broke down in tears when she was asked about her former co-star, Philip.

According to an eyewitness at the taping:

"James Lipton asked her about working with Philip on Doubt and The Master… It hit a nerve with her. [Adams] was sobbing and couldn't finish most of her sentences.

Amy talked about how he was the greatest actor she had worked with, and couldn't even tell stories about him without crying. She said to the audience of acting students 'I wish you all could have had the chance to work with him.'"

That's so heartbreaking to hear.

The two first starred together on Doubt in 2008 and later on The Master in 2012.

The world lost one of the greatest actors and everyone is still grieving over his passing.

He was great but at the end of the day he was weak. Some people can put a foot down on addiction and stick to it, Philip was weak, maybe a little too indolant, unfortunately when you are a father of 3 and a great name in the profession, you really ought to find the strengh. he didn't and there is nothing to praise anymore because he was too careless about his life, same for Dylan Farrow, get over it girl, it has been 20 years, Woody has made a name for himself and the only thing I can wish for you is to make a name for yourself other than being the 'rapped girl', blaze a trail, your own trail!
